This is a small bed and breakfast establishment right in the centre of Pavia and they have tried to think of everything for the convenience of their guests. The side road grille gate is a bit of a surprise, but very secure. Once in, on a hot day I was immediately offered a drink. The stairs are steep, but my bag was taken up to and brought down from the room. The room is very pleasant, nowhere near as over the top as the pictures suggest, there are tea and coffee-making facilities, air-conditioning, internet with no sign-in a fabulous view of the cathedral and town square (I heard no sound of bells at night). Breakfast is typical italian but plentiful. It's not too far to walk from the train station and they ordered me a taxi to get to the Certosa (a got a train back)

We really enjoyed our two nights here. The location is perfect, exactly where you want to be. Communications were exceptional. The room was excellent, very clean with everything we needed. Breakfast was also really good and the staff attentive. I apologize to Paolo for having carried my very heavy suitcase up to our room!

Amazing hosts, Amazing room on 4th floor of medical tower. Great view. Comfortable bed and nice shower and bathroom. Refreshments in refrigerator and great Italian style breakfast.

An unique bed-and-breakfast in the heart of Pavia. The people in charge have knowledge of the best eating experiences in this area. Designer bedrooms overlooking the main Plaza. The owner took the car and parked it for us. We’re leaving the stress of parking. Listen to the recommendations as his knowledge is gold.

Perfect stay in old Pavia.

This is a beautiful facility. It's an old building in the historic centre of Pavia, so don't expect modern decor. Every part of the building is lovingly decorated and furnished with unique pieces. I had a single room - small but perfectly adequate for one person, with an en-suite bathroom and beautifully powerful shower. I arrived late - close to midnight - but was met cheerfully and effiiciently and my case taken to my room. Checkout was just as friendly. Location cannot be beaten - right by the Duomo. A fantastic find.

Fantastic B & B

I would have given him 6 stars if that was a thing. Paolo was a fantastic host. The room was lovely and spotless. The view was charming of the square. I found it funny that the breakfast was actually at a place across the square, and not IN the hotel, but not a problem. The only complaint I had was not their fault-the bloody pigeons!! Don’t get the room on the 4th floor if you want to sleep late.LOL. I though someone was murdering a chicken. It was just the pigeons on the roof above my head! Plus the lack of elevator was hard, but par for the course in a country where they walk everywhere. Overall, i would absolutely recommend.

Potential but real issues

Difficult to find and the front of the BnB is actually a design storefront with no markings. We were met by a gentleman who spoke no English. That’s ok but he was not even able to use Google translate. Once that was sorted he gave us 2 tickets for breakfast next door at the coffee shop. Imagine the next AM I go to the coffee shop and the owners speak no English but I was rescued by a student. After 2 phone calls I was told they had no idea what I was talking about. They took pity on me and offered me a cappuccino. It turns out the guy who let us in was bey confused and had no idea what was going on due to illness of coworkers. I have asked for a discount due to the hassle and no breakfast. I am waiting for a reply. Also the room is super small w too much furniture. And the TEAL entrance is down a very dark back alley w a gate and up 3 flights of dark narrow stairs. Be aware of this...

Für einen Aufpreis gönnten wir uns eine Nacht im Paiazzo Arnaboldi. Welch ein Luxus in diesem prächtigen Palast aus dem 19. Jahrhundert. Besser kann man in Pavia nicht wohnen.
