Room was decent, although the bathroom had a bit of an unpleasant smell I think coming from the drain. Also there was very inconsistent hot water and often took a while to get hot water coming to take a shower. Other than this the staff was friendly and location was great and close various metro stations.

Excellent service, excellent location, excellent breakfast and the excellent amenities in the room, which is comfy and well fitted. The only thing to keep in mind, the bathroom is rather for small sized people

Six stars to the staff if I could. The hotel is cozy. The room is clean. The bed is comfortable. The staff were so kind and caring. They were so accommodating and treated me with kindness when I arrived early. I enjoyed the location as it is about a 15-30 minute walk to the main shopping areas. It is not too walkable to the popular tourist areas if it is too cold.

Excellent experience at Hôtel Bonne Nouvelle. Well-situated in the city, close to metro lines 4, 8, and 9. Lively area with restaurants and bars open late (but not so close that the noise is disruptive when you’re back in your hotel room). I stayed in the single room which was clean and compact. The bathroom got humid, even after keeping the window open, but otherwise it was perfect.

Our 1st floor standard twin room was simple but perfect for our mother and daughter 3 night stay. It was spotlessly clean and quiet with comfortable beds, its own temperature control and an opening window. The bathroom was very small but manageable. The position of the hotel was convenient for the Metro to the Eiffel Tower, and for walking to the rest of the famous Paris sights and shopping areas.

At first, the hotel seemed charming and had the appeal of a small boutique property. However, our experience quickly went downhill. The building is quite old, the rooms are small, and the entire hotel had a musty, damp smell that made the stay uncomfortable. The continental breakfast was very limited, and it was disappointing that the room did not include basic amenities such as a safe or a small refrigerator. We also had a major issue with the front desk staff. The young woman at the desk argued with us about our room type — we had booked a premium room (which is supposed to be larger), but she insisted on placing us in a smaller one while still charging the higher rate. After several frustrating calls with Expedia, it was finally confirmed that we were correct. Only then did she contact her manager and admit the mistake. The entire situation was handled poorly and left us feeling unwelcome. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel and will not stay here again. Very disappointing experience.

No internet and bathroom up in a loft

I didn’t realize when booking that my bathroom would be a ladders climb up! They should have been much more clear as not everyone could handle that climb, I could but didn’t enjoy doing it in the middle of the night or when arriving back and really needing it. Also, NO internet service in that room. It worked elsewhere in the hotel and the staff pretended to care and check on it but didn’t do anything about it not working. So not a place to spend a week in. Even for a day I would have gone elsewhere. I left three stars because the location was fairly convenient.

Did not have high expectations, but the rooms are better than expected, with air condition and the receptionist helpful. The building itself is rather old and the elevator does not go all the way to the top floor. Walked home during the night and was approached multiple times by men sitting in their cars soliciting segs, so beware of that as a woman
