Villa Umi is certainly the best Boutique Hotel in the area. I had planned to go to Boracay for the white sand and crystal blue water, but due to the closure I had to look elsewhere. I’m quite honestly glad that I had gone to Panglao, but Villa Umi made my experience most enjoyable.
First, the location is perfect for those looking for a quiet getaway. I stayed for a week, and what I enjoyed most about the location was the proximity to the beach. I had room 5 on the ground floor which meant I could literally open my door and 3 feet in front of me was the white sand and crystal blue water I was dreaming of. The connection between the hotel and the beach felt like I had my own private beach! In combination with the low foot traffic, it made for quite peaceful moments relaxing in the sun.
They also serve as a restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was delicious, of quality, and well presented. They also offered variety, from traditional Filipino dishes, to Western options like a cheeseburger and fries. I also enjoyed their fresh mango shakes!
What truly makes Villa Umi the best is the service, which I found to be top of the line. I had just flew in from a 5 star hotel in Manila (Fairmont Makati), and found how the quality of service was paralleled although Villa Umi isn’t rated as prestigious.
Because there are only 5 rooms, the staff went above and beyond. Thank you Villa Umi, I sincerely can’t wait for my return and wish you all the best!!!
