"We arrived at the hotel after a 20hr journey quite tired and ready to have a little nap to get used to the time difference. However, after booking through Expedia, who we have used many times before with no issue, the hotel staff had no clue of our booking and tried to make us pay in cash again. I showed the hotel staff the booking and even showed them the credit card payment on my phone. They insisted on payment in cash which we were not going to pay. "This hotel is grand and doesn’t disappoint. The building is beautifully restored, the rooms are comfortable and the veranda areas are perfect for relaxing by the sea. Food and drinks are good and the service excellent. Once you enter the hotel, the bustle of Colombo completely disappears. Amazing value for money. "
