"The room was quite cold and a little damp. Blinds were all down so no natural light. One heat pump in lounge so bedroom was cold. Only one blanket on bed with no extras in the cupboard. No Wifi for the kids. No remote for the TV (limited sky TV access - one channel). Cockroach on the wall had to be killed and disposed of. No frying pan when cooking breakfast and no scrubbing brush to clean dishes or dish rack to stack them. Pretty average to poor compared to other places."

"This is a great place to stay- central location to surrounding areas, shopping and eateries in Petone. We used parking facility and felt this was a great option due to limited parking in area. We felt very safe in this facility. Staff are very polite and helpful. Our room was very clean and noted some cracked tiles in bathroom which have been highlighted with management. We will definitely stay there again"

"Have stayed at this location multiple times, with each and every occasion being absolutely wonderful! The staff are so lovely and the rooms are always in impeccable condition with a wide variety of ammenities that I still keep being pleasantly surprised by. I always reccommend Totara Lodge when friends and family mention wanting to find lodging near Wellington and have yet to hear any bad reviews from them either!"

"Motel is located very close to a Mall and shopping. Good onsite parking. Building had a 3 star feel but ok for short stay. Both centre lights flickered. Milk for tea was in cardboard packet which was in refrigerator frozen solid."

"It was our first time staying here (with an 8 year old). We love the spacious room and spa bath. The only negative we experienced was that the people who stayed above us were very noisy, moving furniture around and just being loud (until we'll after 8pm and starting at 6am again). Apart from this, it was a great experience and we will definitely stay here again."

"The unit was very dated and not well maintained. Carpet appeared to be new. Although the unit wasn't dirty, the cleaning wasn't up to scratch. Backs of doors were dirty, cobwebs around windows, hair in drawers and mold around windows. One small heater for the whole unit. There were no spare pillows or blankets available. Good location with plenty of space in the unit though."

"On the info it said "Park in front..." we had to park behind our rooms. It would have been easier if there was a second step leading into the room off the footpath. Good to have a games room, but not much variety of games. Our boys lost a coin in one (Table Ice Hockey) as it didn't work and couldn't find the table tennis balls. The beds were ok, but mattresses did not have much support, you could feel the base slats through the mattress. Also the mattresses were lower than the height of the...
