"This was a lovely quiet location which was very relaxing. The property we stayed in was lovely,my only disappointment was the bed was uncomfortable and both pillows were really flat. This however would not put us off staying again,we would just bring along our own pillows,and although the bed wasn’t very comfy,we could cope with this just for one night. Other than this ,we enjoyed our stay,and would definately return ."

"The room was clean at arrival but not thoroughly cleaned. Nor was it cleaned every day. We had to ask for facecloths and refrigerators, which should be a common amenity. The refrigerator did nothing for the food stored in it. The frig maybe kept food a bit above room temperature. My stored strawberries began to mold within four days. Asked to reheat a food item because the rooms did not have microwave ovens, and the staff declined. There was a kitchen at this hotel yet refused to heat a dish bought elsewhere. Don't expect staff to go out of their way to provide the expected service common to US hotels---it's not happening. The purchased breakfast food was less than room temperature at 0630 when the eating area opened. I don't know how that is possible. With the heated lamps are surface, if you did not place the food on your plate immediately after the cook placed it on display for consumption, the food got cold. Pancakes cold, waffles cold, eggs, cold, etc. No cream (only milk) for coffee. The cream is in the packets they place in your room with the freeze-dried coffee packet. The cookies they place in the rooms daily was a nice touch. Fee for parking is required adding to the cost of the stay. No street parking nearby. Lastly, my associate purchase dinner (a steak). It was laughable. The steak was thin, larger than the size of a credit card, yet shorter than the length of a standard cell phone. A nearby Wendy's would have done the instead. Enjoy!"

"The room and grounds are both excellent with very friendly staff. The location is easy to find but close to a moderately busy road. The outdoor spaces are fantastic with things for young and young at heart. We enjoyed walking down to the river and Houghton Mill for a tranquil picnic. The breakfast was delicious."

"Alex was a great Host and made sure we settled in with ease, help,a smile and all info needed. Nothing too much,rooms spotless,parking easy and was a great central quiet place to visit all reserves and places we wanted too."

"This was a 1-night stay for work. Booking stated could not arrive until 6pm. When I called in advance and spoke with Simon, he stated I could arrive before that time, just to knock on the door and you would be let in (as I was arriving on a Monday and the pub does not open until 6pm on Monday's). Good greeting by Simon and I was in room 1. It was cosy, and good enough for a 1-night stay. Decor was dated but okay. TV was okay as was ensuite. I ate at the venue in the evening (they only cook for residents on a Monday), and it was lovely (steak, chips and salad). Breakfast in morning (included in price) was good cooked breakfast (not served until 7:30am unless request made). Nice little find, when nearby will be back."

"The room was noisy due to kitchen extract fan which also vibrated the floor The fan runs from 0600 to 2200 per day so no let up in the noise and very rude awakening in the morning"

"A very lovely place for an overnight stay, basic but has all the facilities for a B&B standard. Pub is pretty , traditional inside, twinkle lights. Lovely pie for lunch reasonable prices. Staff we ok, not over friendly neither rude so ok . Our bedroom was cold, duvet not that thick so I was shivering. The owner or manager said the next day that they previous people must have turned the heating off, but surely the cleaner should check this before next people arrive. That all said, I would stay again and for £49.50 total for the night, you can't complain ! I would just check the heater next time 😃"
