"This is the first negative review I've ever had to give. We stayed at The Golden Lion Hotel St. Ives. (13-14 Feb) We stayed in Room 20 which was very small and had the constant, very loud noise of the kitchen extractor humming. On the first night it was still on at 10.45pm and we had to ask Reception to deal with it and then it was back on, waking us up at 7pm. "I was surprised to find out that you had to pay £5per day for using there car park even if you were staying or visiting hotel also the room don’t have usb sockets in the room so make sure you bring a plug. I am a diabetic and needed to keep injection in a fridge over the weekend guess what? No fridge in the room, you only get two English tea bags in the room and enough milk in the room for two cups of tea the room, the second day we got more milk but no more tea bags, for the price you pay for...

"I booked 2 rooms, one was much bigger and was better than the other but both adequate for 1 night. The bathroom in the smaller room was unfinished but totally usable. The shared facilities were good, lovely lounge. Beds were not that comfortable to be honest. Garden and outside areas looked lovely, a bit too cold to use unfortunately. Good quiet location and parking on site. Fridge, microwave and kettle in room was nice. We ate at a nearby restaurant called Lot 25, very enjoyable - good...

"A lovely stay at Thorpe Guest house. Lovely area and very relaxing. The hosts are very helpful on local area amenities and our stay. Would recommend highly if staying in the area. I would book again when visiting family and friends near by."

"It was just a very old building. The staff were great and the bar and restaurant were also very clean. The bed was not very comfortable and the water did not get very hot in the shower. We did enjoy the stay for the week we were there. "
