"We arrived around 5PM Friday night for an annual trip my best friend and I take every fall. This year I handled the planning and picked this hotel specifically for the historical charm, lovely hotel rooms, and serene views. I did quite a bit of research to select the perfect room. We like to feel like we are having a grown up sleepover in a sense (like the old days!) when we arrived we quickly found out we were upgraded from the requested double queen suite to a villa. Most people would probably be ecstatic to receive such an upgrade but we were not. The villa was very modern, very spacious, had separate bedrooms, kitchen, etc., and just wasn't the vibe we wanted. We asked for the manager, Peyton, who quickly helped. We were informed it's apparently very common and typical in all hotels that if events (such as a wedding) require blocks of hotel rooms, you will get bumped for them and as long as you are upgraded, this is acceptable. I have probably stayed in 100+ hotels in my life and did not know this was a thing. Luckily, she discovered a cancellation and was able to make it work for us and really save the trip. We couldn't praise Peyton and her efforts more. I hope she doesn't think too poorly of us (specifically me) for being less than sweet in that moment. Regardless, she came through for us and our stay was marvelous. She even called to check in later on, so kind. Saybrook Point Resort is special, we will definitely be back."

"Was greeted by Christian, it was a smooth, friendly and easy check in. Hotel is super clean, super modern and in a great location. Breakfast was good. Yogurt, really good croissants, coffee, pastries, cereal, very nice selection and also fresh fruit and juices. Bed was comfortable and i wish i stayed longer to check out the bar and restaurant. Easy breezy check out with another great staff member that i didnt catch her name. Looking forward to booking this place again. "
