"The property was great, very central amazing pool with sand and a swim up bar !"

"Rooms were nicely decorated however for a 5* resorts I was expecting the bathrooms to be modern and beautiful. They were not! And also we found (we had 3 rooms) mould in all showers. Reception and staff from La Mesa were very friendly however staff at the pool bar were not nice and cocktails were not up to the quality we expected from again a 5* resort. Very noisy due to school hols and kids take over all amenities. We will not be back as it didn’t provide value for our money and it was not a 5*...

"I love the practicality. Reserved parking, walking distance to mart and LUCKY FISH(the only halal restaurant). In room washing machine + detergent and dryer, save time to do laundry on your own. The pool, also amazing. No need to swim at the beach ( as its dangerous), as the pool is awesome."

"Honestly, I didn’t visit the pool, so I can’t rate that. It has a good location, the room is clean, nice shutters (!) and everything is there. But, the bathroom is not that clean; you can see that they put spray the walls…but don’t use a cloth. The room is outdated. Nothing more than just practical."

"Walls are so thin you can hear the neighbors breathing. I tried working out in the morning and was told to shut up by neighbors. Had a call at 5am in my room, regular volume was made (it was a work call); again neighbors freaked out because it woke them. I also could not use the tv as it was attached to the wall, max volume I could go was 20 out of 100 before the neighbor Complained. Walls are as thin as can be, all can be heard, and yes I mean (all). I reported this to the staff of course....

"We had trouble finding the property in the dark. Once we were oriented, we enjoyed the location and proximity to the esplanade. In the unit, the washer/dryer combo did not work well, the shower left much of the bathroom floor wet and we could have used additional towels. We never heard from or met the hosts during our stay."

"everything about this property was lovely. only thing, kids could find the gaming console (not that i minded lol) and the ad made it sound like the pool was just outside but infact its a small stroll down the road. still enjoyed our swim etc but was one of the deciding factors to stay here when we thought the pool was right there. "The garden setting and the u shape of the overall resort are lovely. The beach is very close literally metres away. Although the pool and spa are not heated it was still refreshing to have a dip due to the overall warm winter weather. The washing machine and dryer are in the apartment so very convenient. "All around excellence. Great view of the bay. Short walk to the boardwalk. Easy walk to the pier. Breakfast was great. The staff is just the best. We felt welcomed by everyone and were well taken care of. I recommend the Riley to anyone coming to Cairns."
