"The room was pretty cold on arrival, but soon worked out how to get the heating on.Staff were very helpful and managed to sort out my booking, that Expedia failed to notify the hotel, so they were not expecting me.The room was aa bit outdated,and not very soundproof, the 7 lane bypass was very noisy during the night,even with the window closed."

"I stayed at the Midland because I had a hospital appointment the following morning. The rooms were adequate but basic. I wasn't impressed with the receptionist, I felt she was rather cold. Around 8pm I went to reception and asked the same young lady for a couple of extra pillows ( there was only one on the bed) she said she would send some up, they never arrived. There wasn't any information on the telephone to be able to ring reception."

"Staff have lots of attitude, no real customer service, not enough food for breakfast. Terrible service you get better service from other hotel providers, need to teach staff that hospitality means being nice and going the extra mile. Will not be booking again. Looks like white people were better served."

"The room was clean but the carpets was severely worn. Had all the amenities, TV, iron + board, kettle and coffee. Parking at the Leisure centre and walk across an arcade- not ideal on a cold day but the multi-storey parking place was well lit, safe and well maintained and very cheap for 24hrs. Not an expensive place (price) but the one thing I couldnt palate was the breakfast (I simply walked away after tasting-absolutely unable even if you try and assumed that breakfast was 'not included')."

"Didnt even get to the property. Wrongly advertised as having free parking. The manager refused to help as unaware to me there is a £100 deposit. Until i paid this . Even though I paid for the room he would not give me any details of the location. So held to ransom . He was polite but unhelpful. I chose this property exclusively because of parking as I cant walk distances and especially with a suitcase. Im still trying to get my money back "

"Apart from my room which was warm and comfortable but lacked a bath towel, with only a shampoo and a very little round soap being provided, the whole place seemed sad and lonely. The Reception was poorly lit and signed, and was cold and damp; I appeared to be one of only two guests staying on the Saturday night and the guests in the room next to mine kept their television on until 5.15am and periodically seemed to drop something heavy on the floor.
