"We were given a room at the rear of the hotel which was in a converted annex. This was nicely decorated with basic amenities although we did have a shower and a bath. The accommodation was on 2 floors, with the bathroom on the ground floor and the bedroom on the first floor. This was not very convenient for us when using the bathroom during the night, especially as the stairs were steep and creaked, waking us both each time. There was one chair upstairs and one downstairs so we couldn't both...

"Our stay was great, any issues were dealt with quickly and efficiently. The lift was out of order during our stay, but porter service was perfect. The telephone in our room was also out of order. Hopefully these are now rectified"

Breakfast offerings from the buffet and menu were very good. However, the fish chips, and mushy peas I ordered one evening (£18.95 on the menu) were simply awful in every respect including quality and portion size.
