Wow what a great place, I really hope I can engineer another reason to visit the area in the near future. I called the property to advise I would be a late check in prior to travelling, expecting to get their at 21:30. The manger was very kind and said it wouldn't be a problem they usally their until 23:00 / 24:00. About 30 mins later he called me back to check if I would like any food putting to one side as I would miss last orders at my arrival time. I had a horrible journey down due to road works, but at 22:30 I got a further call because they were worried I still hadn't arrived. I eventually got their at 23:00 to what can only be described as a warm, almost family like welcome. Then I got to the room! Wow, I was in the Plantation room and that HUGE bath with the hottest water and most epic water pressure ever was heaven. After a refreshing nights sleep, I had an early breakfast of Avocado and Poached eggs on toast! OMG best ever, i was so guttered I hadn't got their earlier so i could of had dinner, based on how nice breakfast was, i definatley missed out lol Thank you Packhorse Inn Team, you made a solo traveller for work VERY HAPPY!

Lovely location. Lovely property, but room had no shower, just one over the bath that soaked the floor. Room was very noisy & while the bar / kitchwb was open was not ideal for a business traveler. If you were staying for a pleasure trip it would not be a problem.

Bad communication and not best customer service

Communication was poor, no working bath and was not told before arrival. Transferred to another hotel, but we was told in the morning that we had to pay for the other hotel and that our hotel.com booking was cancelled (there was no cancellation). My wife was 7 month pregnant and was getting quite stressed. The manager at the place was not understanding and was arguing and not finding a solution for us. I would not go back or to any of the parent group restaurants
