I arrived in New Orleans excited to celebrate my birthday, but this hotel managed to turn what should have been a joyful stay into a deeply disappointing experience.
My friend and I arrived a few hours before check-in and were informed of a $50 early check-in fee; an absurd charge, but one we reluctantly paid. Unfortunately, that was only the beginning.
The following morning, I attempted to call the front desk to request water, only to discover that the phone in my room did not function at all. I then called from my cell phone and was asked what room I was in. After providing the information, the staff member responded, “We tryna figure out who is all in there anyway.” This comment was both unprofessional and alarming. I then provided my name, only to be told that my reservation could not be found, despite this being the same person who had taken my $50 early check-in fee the day before. While I was assured water would be sent up, it took well over an hour to receive it.
I also inquired about housekeeping and was told to simply leave the sign on the door. We left the room late morning and returned around 4:30 p.m. to find the room completely untouched. When I raised this issue at the front desk, I was met with, “Did you put the sign on the door?” There was no apology, no urgency, and no effort to resolve the issue.
At checkout, I again expressed my dissatisfaction, only to be met with, “Well, did you tell anyone?” Once again, there was zero accountability and no attempt w
