We were a family of four, and after a 4-hour plane ride, a 2-hour customs line, and a 3½-hour drive from San José Airport, we arrived at the hotel completely exhausted. "The property in on steep land, but transportation is available 24/7 via golf cart and the staff respond quickly. There are many amenities. First, the concierge staff are top notch. Johansy made sure all of our needs were met and she went above and beyond to do so. For example, when we found out the mini bar service was no longer offered, she helped us order snacks and drinks to be delivered from a grocery store to have in our room. "Convenient location (our guide picked us from there), spacious room with all amenities, nicely decorated inside and out, secure parking right in front of the rooms, very flexible host (we arrived late and got checked in fast and he was wiling to let us check out late next day if we are not back from the tour on time). "What an amazing vacation we had. After 5 days most of the staff had become good friends. It was sad to say goodbye to them. The location is stunning too with 180 degree views of 2 beaches. Outside our room we had a monkey highway as each morning 10 monkeys would walk across the vines outside our room. The wildlife are real happy there as we saw sloths, friendly lizards and lots of monkeys. And last but not least, the food was amazing at both restaurants. We cant wait to return!"

Vegetarian dinner options were limited at La Casa restaurant and kind of expensive (nevertheless, you have a lot of restaurants outside at La Fortuna, but everything else in the resort was very nice and awesome! Staff were very friendly, rooms were clean, resort is clean, pools, hot springs were great! Excellent resort!! FIVE STARS! We went in December 2025!"

"We love this spot. Came here pre kid 15 ish years ago and returned with our 9 year old. There is a new building but the vibe is the same. Walkable uphill and downhill to restaurants but certainly stay and try the onsite at Sloth. The food was lovely. "
