"Great manager, she is kind, knowledgeable, funny, and easy to reach. The place was clean and good location. Great for those on a budget not needing every amenity. If driving, back into parking lot. Grill currently not available due to building of an outside sitting area. Not sure you can walk to marina in 20 minutes, nor would I given the hill, but you definitely cannot walk to the park. Don’t think this error in landmarks is the fault of Tico Tico though, but the reason for my 3 stars on accuracy."

"Nice views. Terrible food, poor service in the dining areas. The reserve walk was nice, but not up to expectations. The shuttle only runs from 8-4. Not safe to walk anywhere but you can take a taxi into town for $10"

"Our room was clean and the staff was outstanding. We were a little disappointed in the breakfast. We just thought they would have a little bit more fruit, including bananas. The hot food that was homemade and excellent. The view was breathtaking. Our air-conditioning was great, not to mention the view was amazing The only negative I can say, was we had no Wi-Fi in our room. We’d have to go downstairs to connect therefore, you cannot watch any TV. We had a blackout one night for an hour and a half, but we were already to go to bed, so no problem."

"We had a beautiful time at the La Mariposa! The hotel is beautiful with orchids by the pool side and an occasional visit from the monkeys. The outdoor dining was fantastic and the drinks and food were incredible as well. It is nice to be so close to dining and shops and be able to walk."

"I was afforded the opportunity to stay for a few days, during which I had an unforgettable experience. Adriana supplied us with copious amounts of information regarding nearby attractions and aided us in arranging various excursions. At the same time, Manuel, a consummate professional behind the bar, presented us with a welcome drink, exhibiting his remarkable expertise and genial nature. Breakfast, served daily with a delightful array of options, was expertly overseen by Maday, whose consistent smile and helpful demeanor were evident. My experience was, in a word, superb, and I would undoubtedly return, given the chance."

"Hotel Costa Verde did not meet our expectations; it was the most expensive place we stayed in Costa Rica and we liked it the least. The biggest problem is the hotel room walls are paper thin so we could clearly hear normal volume conversations taking place in the next room as well as lots of noise from the baby and toddler, waking us up multiple times during the night and noisy throughout the day as well. You can hear doors opening and closing very loudly in the next room, too. The hotel does not provide basic coffee condiments in the room or in the lobby; I requested a simple dry packet of creamer, or a bit of milk, or anything for my coffee (coffee that I brought myself), and was told it's not provided. This is not what I expect from a 4-star hotel. The swimming pool (we went to Pool A twice) has a nice ocean view but otherwise it is a basic small square pool with discolored, old chairs and no ambiance at all. No music, no service, no umbrellas, no towels. Finally, be aware that the overall property consists of many buildings that are spread out from each other; our building in "Area D" had zero amenities; we had to either drive our rental car or request a shuttle ride if we wanted to go to the pool, go to the restaurants on the property, or get to Area E from which you can walk a steep path to the beach. The positive things about the hotel were a refrigerator and 2-burner cooktop in the room, hot water in the shower, and a nice balcony. I wouldn't stay here again."
