"Beautiful property, wonderful public onsen, and excellent restaurant. Very peaceful location. While I loved my room (which was high up and overlooked the forest), it involved climbing some very steep stairs. Travelers with mobility issues should be careful about which rooms they reserve. I stayed two nights and wish that I had stayed three."

"The onsen (woman) has both indoor n outdoor pool plus cold bath. They provided all the amenities one would need. Front desk services were good. They helped with filling out forms for luggage forwarding. Welcome drink after checkout and ramen at night for free. Room was very clean. About 5 mins walk from Matsumoto station. We simply walk around to do tourist stuff. I would highly recommend this hotel. "

"Very close to Matsumoto station, Toyota Car Rental and restaurants (recommend Beans for Italian). Breakfast was very good but can be crowded as tour companies use the hotel. Walk to excellent Matsumoto City Art Museum. "

"We had a great stay at this hotel. Rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking direct at the hotel. All places we visited (including the castle) are easy walkable direct from the hotel. "

"The hotel is very easy to access from the Shinkansen station without needing to cross any streets. The breakfast was quite good and with variety we find in typical business hotels in Japan. "

"Pros: 5 min walk from Matsumoto station, many restaurants within 5-10min walking distance that’s foreign friendly, brand new hotel facility (beds were firm, staff was very friendly, overall facility very clean), free breakfast (western and American options were available and it was all delicious!), late night snacks (ramen and ice cream) available Cons: depending if there’s a tour group or not - the small/medium sized breakfast area can be very busy until 8:30am and you would need to wait, shower curtain has a musty smell if not aired out properly Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again "

"Lovely olde world hotel with a nice basement bath house. Good breakfast and a great location close to shops, restaurants and the beautiful castle. Pick up from the station at 3pm was a bonus!"

"Enjoyed our one night stay here. Booked one hour private onsen and thoroughly enjoyed the privacy and waterfall scene. Also did the public onsen and enjoyed it as well. Yukata clothing and towels are provided. Excellent service and a sense of luxury even though the hotel itself is dated. Good breakfast."
