"My son and I were passing through from Rotorua to Wellington and stayed one night here. My son loved it. The room was much bigger than we thought. There was ample space and it was very comfortable. It had a lot of extra amenities that we took advantage of. We played on their mini golf course, played pool and ping pong, and used the hot tub. It was very quiet but it it is winter there and less people would be visiting vs. summer. The front desk attendant was super kind and helpful. I...

"I stayed in the backpackers side in my own room with a very comfortable bed, heaters & washbasin. Communal facilities were kept clean & tidy, staff were kind and fellow travellers friendly. The bar and restaurant are welcoming places to relax. Staying at the Skotel is a home away from home 😊"

"One of the my favorite hotels on month-long trip to New Zealand. After hiking 6-hour Tongariro, the expansive hot tub-pool at Powderhorn was just what the doc ordered. Laundry room on the floor a plus -- and hotel dining facilities (for dinner and breakfast) were very good."
