"Check in was a bit of a hassle, the driveway was very small and very chaotic, was hard to find somewhere to park the car so I could check in. During this time one of the cleaning staff ran her trolley onto the front of my hire car- not ideal. I booked this motel for the parking but was told I had to park my car at a public car park approx 5 mins walk. I was not expecting this and was probably a little upset with this situation. I was travelling alone and didn't want to be walking a long distance to my car. They ended up getting me into the carpark for my second night, just meant that I had to interrupt my planned activities for the day to go and get the car. Once that was all sorted I had a great stay. Nice and central, comfortable and very happy with my stay. Would just advise people to try to park on the street before checking in to avoid that terrible driveway and contact the motel first to check that they will be able to accommodate you in the carpark"

"Arrived having sent my id and phone number as requested. Informed by Hotel. com four hours after arriving that a lock pad number would be sent on the day of our arrival !!!! If it had not been for some fellow guests who rang a different number than what we were given and managed to contact someone who gave us the lock and key combination. The room was clean and bedding very good but there was not a single hook to hang any clothing. Nor a cupboard. The combi/fan/light/heater made an unbearable noise in the bathroom. Luckily there was another smaller light in the room. Third night the heavens opened in Hobart and the roof was leaking. They moved us to another room which did have a wardrobe but a lot of rust under the metal window. There was no hot water in the shower. If the effort was made could be a really nice motel. But sadly not on this occasion. A very dangerous health and safety issue is the steps upto the motel. If you drive in you would not use them. But the lower flight has a handrail somewhat wobbly and splintered, half hidden under the undergrowth. The second flight no hand rail and loose stones. Very slippy on the rainy day."

"The Rivulet is located on busy Sandy Bay Road, which makes getting into and out of the property a litte tricky. It is conveniently located to the Salamanca Market, which we were able to walk to (30-40 minutes) and also to the Bruny Island boat tour pick-up location. Sandy Bay Road has lots of shops within easy walking distance (Coles and Woolworth). We especially enjoyed one of the bakery shops where we purchased meat pies and cherry tarts. Breakfast provided a good selection of options, with coffee and tea, quiche, fresh fruits, breads, and cold cuts."

"Staff are very busy so expect wait in line to check in, ask a question, get in to breakfast. Also breakfast items were not restocked quickly enough. No bowls and no one to ask, no cups for juice(did get restocked), pastries slow in putting out more. Juice wasn’t cold. Great position, close to everything, staff doing their best but could do with more staff in our opinion, they all were very busy. Told valet car was out the back when it was out the front as well. "
