"Expedia shows a noon check-in but in fact once I arrived the staff informed me that it was actually 3 PM but a room is available and I was allowed in at about 1220. Throughout my stay staff was extremely attentive and helpful. I love being able to have a cozy fire in the evening and the room was adorned with all manner of African art, modern amenities, and a tasty breakfast the next morning. "The hotel was super modern new and clean, only down side was everyday they had an event in the main outdoor area so if you want to go somewhere where there isn’t people then it might not be the place, but from our room we didn’t have noise disturbances but parking at night was sometimes tricky but I would definitely recommend it again and for the price it was 10/10"

"This is my second time staying at the Colton Inn on a visit to Monterey. For me, it was important that it's located close to the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, but it's also within walking distance of lots of downtown/Old Monterey locations, including a drug store, Trader Joe's, cafes and restaurants, and the water front. Staff are always extremely helpful, I enjoy the breakfast (love that they have hard boiled eggs!), and always have a great stay here."
