"Clean but dated room. Had trouble with noisy neighbours and the night porter tried to sort it but wasnt to be....however the manageress Gillian was great sorting a free replacement stay. "

"An enjoyable one night stay at a hotel where the positive features far outweigh any minor niggles. Attentive and pleasant staff, excellent food, well presented and served in a timely manner. Rooms just bordering on the need for some love and attention, although White Stuff toiletries do a good job in diverting attention from the nasty stain on one of the seats. Decent enough spa facilities, although it would be helpful if the price to swim were included in the booking price."

"Apart from my room which was warm and comfortable but lacked a bath towel, with only a shampoo and a very little round soap being provided, the whole place seemed sad and lonely. The Reception was poorly lit and signed, and was cold and damp; I appeared to be one of only two guests staying on the Saturday night and the guests in the room next to mine kept their television on until 5.15am and periodically seemed to drop something heavy on the floor. "Room was ok . Dull dark decor and v small television. Table light worked but wonky and carpet threadbare in some areas . Clean . Check in was not very welcoming , lady seemed rushed and no pleasantries . Asked for more milk which didn’t get . Meal in the evening was good . Sticky toffee sauce was more like weak caramel. Decided not to stay the night so returned home so can’t comment on breakfast. Staff serving meal v good . "

"We made our booking via a partner agent on arrival we were told to had to pay for parking which we weren’t aware of. £5 per night. We’ve stayed here many times over the years & never paid for parking . Despite pre checking in online the day before arrival with both guests details there was only 1 set of towels. Room was clean although I found an extremely long black hair in the bathroom I have a blonde bob. Value for money it served its purpose for our hiking break."

"Staff all very friendly. Our food, both our evening meal and breakfast were both lovely. The one downside for me was that even though we had a late check out at 12, my husband had gone on to work and at 10:30am my door was opened by a man who announced he was there to do housekeeping.
