The George of Colchester

"Beautiful hotel with stunning interior decor in a very central location and handy car park (at extra cost). We had a twin room on the first floor (room 205) which, although was comfortable with excellent shower and comfy beds, the pigeon muck on the outside of the windows was not very nice! We enjoyed our 1 night stay (with a good breakfast) but would not recommend a room on that side of the building as the noise from the outdoor terrace area was substantial from check-in through to late night. Staff were very friendly and welcoming."

"The property was clean, room was very nice. staff was eficient and helpful. Amenities were good good. First choice in food wasn't available as I assume it was the weekend but food when arrived was tasty. The only drawback was the location. It was a little remote"

"The room was fine, good size, clean, everything in working order. However, the room was extremely hot with no air conditioning and there was a lot of noise from outside. Staff were very helpful, allowed us to check in early but unable to change our room to reduce heat or noise as the hotel was full. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice."
