"The unit was adequate for a two night stay. Very convenient for early morning boat trip on Doubtful Sound. Beautiful view of lake. Road a stone’s throw in front of unit but not very busy and bedroom was at the rear. Old fashioned interior and furnishings. Plenty of hot water, clean bedding and towels. No television but good WiFi. Overall we felt pricing was a bit on the high side. Parking beside unit.

"This property either needs to be closed or renovated desperately. The electric blankets are like from the 80s one was broken and the other was hanging on to its dear life. I didn't use it and suffered the bitter cold and the dirty blanket. The toilet literally came off the floor when I sat slightly to one side. We were on our way to Milford Sound from Queenstown and all rooms in Te Anau were completely booked. When we arrived at the hotel office and asked if I could use the toilet, the staff...

"Motel is well situated for lake view, and fairly priced in comparison to neighbouring properties. Spa bath was a welcome addition for weary muscles. Ammenities adequate with plenty of kitchen utensils. However layout made cooking and dish-washing tricky. No kitchen table indoor or outdoor so had to use coffee table. While spacious, this aging property is overdue for a refresh.
While our information sheet said the units were serviced daily, ours was not, even though we displayed the housekeeping...

"Don’t be put off by the backpacker property, the Lakeview rooms are terrific, very big with a great view and come with a mini fridge and kettle. The amenities are limited, just hand and body wash, and towels are limited, and no servicing, but for the price, the location is excellent, and the Lakeview rooms are totally separate from the backpacker dorms.
