Lovely little hotel
Great little hotel with very friendly staff. Breakfast is freshly made to order which was also really nice.

Disappointed!… the hotel was pretty vacant and we only learned after the hotel was booked and non refundable that the restaurant was not open. The nearest restaurant was not within walking distance. The woman who checked us in was very nice but the other staff were not overly friendly or helpful. The hotel is also on a very busy road which was left out of the written description and photos….

We needed to conduct a thorough check of the records related to your reservation, before answering your review.We are sorry you were disappointed with the fact that our restaurant was closed during your visit. We make sure we communicate this for all hotel reservations at the time of booking.Your reservation was made on Wednesday 20/09/2023 on Expedia. This triggered two automated emails, which were sent to you at 4:34PM and 5:04PM respectively. Both advised you that our restaurant and bar are closed on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. This is also stated in the hotel description on Expedia. Sorry if you missed all of these communications.

Definitely in our Top5.
This was our first stay at Hurley House and it won’t be our last, probably one of the best hotels we have stayed in and there have been very many especially in the Bucks and Berks area. Room was delightful, the food was brilliant and the staff excellent. Could not fault it.

Lovely decor and rooms, however the staff all seem very nervous and under strained. There are loads of staff, but none of them are really able to manage issues and tend to scurry around fun a panic. eg: we ordered granary toast. They came back and said they only do brown or white, so we choose brown. We then received one brown and one white. When we pointed it out, the waiter just got very nervous and didn't know what to do. Please train them!

A very difficult place to leave
We were so impressed when we stayed here last year that choosing to stay again this year was a pleasure. It is very rare to revisit a hotel and not notice small signs of wear and tear. The standard of maintenance is equal to the exceptional level of service that is so clearly the focus of Hurley House.

Amazing Stay at Great Hotel
Amazing hotel which is finished beautifully and in a lovely location close to the town of Marlow. All the staff are very helpful and friendly and the checkin process was very professional and a nice touch taking you to the room and showing you how everything works. Restaurant is nice, couple of issues at dinner, which were resolved to our satisfaction and offered a complimentary dessert. Only negative would be the chairs/sofa in the bar which are pretty uncomfortable if you don't want to sit on the bar stools.

Amazing staff, so friendly, a very cozy feel. All the team that were working 15-17th November were incredible, especially the duty manager who went out of his way to make our anniversary special.

High quality hotel in the Berkshire countryside
Modern, beautifully appointed hotel fronted by A traditional pub. Friendly, professional, helpful staff. High quality fittings, furnishings and bed-linen. A little further from Henley or Maidenhead than I would have liked but that's the only negative. We would definitely stay again.

Romantic weekend break
We stayed at Hurley House for a special occasion weekend - very glad we chose it. We were made to feel welcome and the room was lovely - modern, clean and super comfortable. The Jane Austen book set on the dresser wasmaybe my favourite hotel decor touch ever! Sitting in the garden area for a drink and pre-dinner nibble was very pleasant in the sun. Breakfast was fine, no complaints but not memorable. All the staff we spoke to were nice and friendly.

Modern, comfortable boutique hotel - v.expensive!!
Brand new recently refurbished hotel. Rooms were lovely, clean, modern and the bed was extremely comfortable. The TV in the room was recessed in an alcove and could only be viewed by lying on the right side of the bed. There were no chairs. The food offered was limited and mediocre at best - however the average cost for a main meal on the menu was around £30 - way too much even for a generous business allowance. The complementary breakfast however was delicious and would be hard to beat. The staff were plentiful (if not too plentiful) albeit a little snobby. The barman served me a large glass of wine only to remark that clientele visiting the hotel don;t drink large glasses of wine so he would have to charge me for two small - another £10 out of the wallet for that! I ate in the bar, walked to the bar for my drink, ordered my meal by walking over to the waitress service station yet I was still charged a very generous service charge on top of the already ludicrous cost for food. Lovely hotel, spoilt by trying to being a bit "too posh", menu needs bulking out a bit and prices reducing. I doubt I'll go back even though I had a great nights sleep.

Great boutique hotel
Hotel with attention to details - every part of the hotel has style and comfort that is very hard to find in a hotel. The bedrooms and bathrooms are unique with very high quality finish. Stayed for two nights and had a very enjoyable stay although the service could be improved in places. I contracted the hotel prior to my visit to check types of rooms available. I booekd the premium room as didn't think the garden room was needed at this time of year. I checked availabilty for this room, however was given a standard room when I arrived - the pictures on the website for the standard room were exactly the same. I checked with reception if there were other rooms, they showed me a room next door which was much better, bigger bedroom and bathroom with separate showers. I was bemused why this wasn't offered initially since it was empty and most rooms (if not all) were empty on our second night as all doors to the rooms were left open early in the morning and had been cleaned. Curious why this room hadn't been an option when I had mentioned I was staying for a special occasion. Left disappointed by this but rest of stay was great and the room move made it worth while with a perfect bathroom. For such a high quality hotel, dressing gowns would be a touch. Also the ironing boards were rediculous for such a high spec hotel - mini ironing boards with nothing solid to iron on was pretty dangerous. A standard ironing board would be much improved!
