Unfortunately the room i was given had not been cleaned, so necessitated a change of room at 11 pm. There was also an issue which delayed breakfast by aroud 45 mins. The room also allowed a lot of noise in from the road outside.

This is not a hotel but a guest house with no receptionist. I went out and when I came back late night there was no one in the building I knocked on every door I could locate but there was no one around I had to look for another place to stay. Disappointing

Great staff
Close to centre facilities but unfortunately before booking didn't look at reviews already stating this is a music/ club venue at weekends. Very noisy room even at the top. Staff however could not have been more helpful thank you and breakfast was ok.

Overnight Layover
The Red Lion is in a pretty good location to London Luton airport, just a few minutes taxi ride. We arrived late in the evening and were just staying for an overnight layover, so we did not get the full experience. Luckily we just made last call and had some good beer before we tucked in. The staff at the pub/hotel were so lovely. They were friendly even at the late hour, and the manager was nice enough to call us an early morning taxi for the ride back to the airport so we wouldn't have any trouble in the morning. The room was comfortable and clean and served its purpose quite well for us. I wish we could have explored the local area more and I wish the European market was as fond of air conditioning everything as those of us on the other side of the pond, since it was quite warm in our room, but other than that, we had a lovely experience and would recommend it for a stop over or more.

Ok for low budget one night stop. Room above pub in historic building. Friendly helpful staff. But no lift, light bulb out, no tv remote despite tv screen in room. Small things but they add up a bit. Still, it did the job.

Great place to stay for business visits in the area, also food is excellent value in the bar. Live sports there as well was a bonus

An old hotel in the centre of town. Rooms need a radical makeover, and the car park is far too small. My room was in the annexe block which had a coded lock on the outer door, when shown to my room the door was locked but the bar person had no idea what the code was. He went back in and then appeared from the inside having somehow got through via the interior of the hotel. He left the door unlocked, but when I went into the bar to get a coffee, I returned to find it locked again. Back into the bar to find how I get to my room, asked the guy for the code, who said he doesn't know it. He did go and ask someone else though and gave it to me. The room was at best shabby, the waste bin had not been emptied from the previous guest, the grouting in the bathroom was black, and the radiator in the room was only luke warm. Didn't eat dinner in the restaurant as the menu was not very exciting, but had breakfast in the morning. As it was included in the room cost so didn't expect much, but it did have a small selection of cereal and toast. As I said it was cheap, so if you have very low standards it would probably suit you. I was only there for one night, but had I been there any longer I would have checked out and stayed somewhere else.

Absolutely fine!
There are some quite negative reviews on TripAdvisor so I didn't know quite what to expect. But it was absolutely fine! The room was really nice, tucked away at the back of the hotel. The WiFi was a bit hit and miss, but other than that fine, clean and comfortable. The staff were all fantastic. The evening meal was fine (the steak was a bit more medium than medium rare, but great value for money so mustn't grumble!). Breakfast also fine. The only negative thing was there was some banging around from a neighbouring room at about 3am. But I can't really blame the hotel for inconsiderate guests! All in all would I recommend this hotel? Much to my surprise, yes, absolutely!

Fantastic place, comfy rooms and amazing staff.
Amazing staff, could not do enough for you. Very attentive and friendly. Rooms are clean, comfy and up to date. Great shower facilities and has all the amenities you need. Highly recommend.

Nice hotel with modern rooms. Unfortunately the road outside is quite loud from 6am on. Forget the breakfast. They serve continental style buffet with powdered coffee. Cooked breakfast is available but you pay extra and it's not nice, although I didn't think you can do much wrong there. So better go out to eat. Trouble is where. Location is central Luton. Random points: The TV remote hardly worked as the batteries were near flat. It was getting chilly outside and the properly hot water and heating were definitely appreciated. All in all its a nice hotel and pub for the evening though. Would still recommend in this area.

Misleading pictures- it looks high standard , for me it was under average. Rooms are in a different building than the restaurant; access is through dark car park. Breakfast is basic- bread, jam, cereals, fruits. Outside street noise can be heard (especially buses, garbage cars and trucks). Inside the hotel, I did not hear other guests. View was to the garbage collection point- woke up twice when they were collecting garbage... Wifi is terrible. Could not use it most of the time. Not many channels in the tv. Room is clean and the bed is comfortable. Shower, bathroom are also fine. There is free coffee and tea with biscuits replenished in the room everyday. Location is good, in the centre. Overall. I would not stay again due to dark entry to hotel and lack of working wifi.

Decent hotel for the price.
Good value hotel attached to decent enough pub. Rooms were fairly well equipped and even had ironing facilities in the room. Good shower. USB charging sockets in the room which is a nice touch.

On arrival we were advised that Friday and Saturday nights they hosted a disco until 3am - not much sleep the night we stayed. Also the included full English breakfast was only available on Sunday from 10am - we left at 9am and had a continental breakfast instead. Don't go Friday or Saturday unless you are going to the disco.

Hotel that is very central.
Stayed at the Red Lion over a weekend and as we arrived late had to make our way through a very busy pub in order to check-in, which wasn't ideal and did make me think 'What have I signed up for' but when we got to the room we were pleasantly surprised how nice the room was. I don't think this is a hotel for elderly persons as with the disco in the pub going on until 3am both Friday and Saturday evening it is very loud and lively. The breakfast was decent, what you would expect from a Continental breakfast and the hotel represented good value for money overall.

when you are told breakfast is included they should say its a continental breakfast so husband was quite dissapointed also not told that it finished at 10.am so the milk wasnt cold and no sugar came with the cereal but on the plus side the toast was spot on. also though it was only 0940am and they where clearing it away room was ok nice and clean good shower

What a labyrinth to reach bedroom....down, right, up, left, behind the door...etc. Nice pub, nice hotel (comfortable bed), only fooding is not home made.
