Stayed for just one night while attending a show at The Wiltern, which is about a 10-15 minute walk down the street. Front desk staff was very nice and generously allowed me to check in quite early since there was a room available and ready. The lobby is nice and cozy, and appears to have security on site (at least late at night when I got back from the show) which is definitely a plus on the safety factor.
The room was comfortable, as was the bed. If you're a light sleeper however, I will say you should probably consider bringing earplugs as this is an old hotel with thin walls, and floors that creak and groan with every step, both in your room and the rooms surrounding you. Since it's an old hotel, some might consider this atmosphere a charming part of its personality, but for me, it's a sign of much needed renovation, and this is pretty clear appearance-wise as well, with the floor in my room clearly having been through some hard times. Also, the drapes in the room don't completely close or overlap for total blackout, so you'll always have some light coming in.
As a place to sleep and shower, it served its purpose but it does need a bit of a face lift.
