This property was recommended for us as part of a large group coming into LA for a wedding. I would never have chosen it otherwise. It was a horrible place in many ways. It is considered a "boutique hotel" so if that's your thing, great. I personally don't appreciate the stench of pot vaping in every hallway, vomit in the elevator, drag racing and bar fights in the street at 3 am, explosions (yes, still not sure what that was all about), sirens, etc. Another family friend/guest witnessed a homeless mentally ill person sitting at the bar in the "lobby" area scream, fall out of his seat and pull a knife out of his backpack. Police were called. Homeless and drug seekers everywhere at street level. I'm from NY and have stayed in a lot of neighborhoods there and never felt as much unease. I couldn't wait to check out and head to a different hotel for the last night of our visit. Our poor niece brought her toddler to this place. So many of the wedding guests felt the same. Aside from all the above- staff was aloof, lighting was purposely dim, lack of space in room, tiny bathroom, no top sheet on bed, stains on comforter, bed uncomfortable, smelly towels, no mini fridge, why would you stay here after this review? So many nicer places downtown for the same or lower price. Stay away!
