"really good hotel"

"We were in the cottage room 26 .we were the road side .There was nt a prolem as didnt hear the traffic .But the room needed updating .the bedroom was very small with 2 single beds .which probably would have been better with a double .the bathroom was also very small with shower over bath .But saying that it had everything that was needed .we just stayed the one night and only slept in the room .we found the hotel very well run nice staff. The bar lounge and dining rooms in the hotel was lovely .The breakfast was definitly worth it .very nice and plenty .I would stay again but probably would recommend staying in the hotel ."

"Stayed at The Roadhouse for one night. The location was convenient and check-in was straightforward, but the room felt very tired and in need of some updating. Décor and furnishings looked worn, and overall it didn’t feel as fresh as expected. It was fine for a short stay, but with some refurbishment it could be much better."

"Breakfast was excellent and staff friendly, rooms a bit dated and bed uncomfortable. Went for a wedding at clearwell castle but struggled to get a taxi back to the golf club."

"This place isn’t 5 star but it’s affordable it’s in a great location iv stayed here a few times the staff are friendly rooms basic but nice clean and fresh shower is hot and powerful I would choose this hotel over any travel lodge premiere inn and I will definitely be back soon"

"Booked for one night and paid just shy of £200 for a standard double. The pictures of the hotel and room looked good so was happy to pay,. However, the room we got, room 44 was right at the back of the hotel in the 1980/90's extension, the room was small and tired, particularly in the bathroom where the door has no lock and paint had been knocked off, the ventilation fan also didn't work and wasn't fitted properly. The hotel itself is very nice and the staff are friendly. We also ate in the restaurant which was pleasant but we had a 20 minute wait for our drinks. I felt it was expensive for what it was £100 for 2 starters and 2 mains with 2 drinks. For £300 I feel there is better out there. Made my feelings felt on departure and received an apology and assurances my comments will be passed on, won't be returning."

"A friendly welcome by the staff and very attentive throughout our stay. Room 8 was excellent with plenty of space and a large bath with separate shower. Food selection was great and expertly prepared. Plenty of choices for breakfast. Good selection of drinks at the bar. Several walks from the hotel and the river Wye is only a 15 minute walk away."
