Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, wir hatten Halbpension gebucht, man konnte aus einer kleinen Karte drei Gänge auswählen, das Essen war sehr lecker. Auch beim Frühstücksbuffet gab es von allem etwas (Croissonts, Brot, Weckerl, Müsli, Ei, Obst, Käse, Wurst etc.) Unser Apartment war sehr groß (inkl. großer Balkon) und hatte auch eine kleine Küchennische dabei, dort wurden sogar Tee und Kaffee bereitgestellt. Uns hat besonders die ruhige Lage und die Natur rundherum gefallen.

Stayed here years ago and had a great time so decided to come back. The service and the place was just as beautiful including the view from the balcony! We fully recommend staying here although there are no restaurants around the area. It is within walking distance from the Gorge! Thank you!

Look no more!!! Stay here! You will love every minute of your stay. We stayed for 3 nights. We slept so well and it was so nice and quiet and comfortable. The duvet covers were so great and everything was so clean. The view is amazing! The breakfast was perfection! We are already dreaming of coming back!

Hidden Gem
Definitely happy with our stay here. Amazing view, great location for trails, and a quiet nights rest, plus it’s close to two popular cities. Has everything you need nearby. The sauna was an added benefit, what a cute setup! We enjoyed it twice during our 6 day stay and it was an amazing way to unwind. The breakfast has everything you need and left us feeling full most days until dinner. The only downside is the walls seem pretty thin and so it can be noisy if there are other noisy guests. There’s also no blackout curtains so expect to be woken up with the rising sun! Big thanks to Andi for his hospitality. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Amazing !
Almost in the middle of nowhere , and we were completely okay with that 😍. It’s a great place to get away and doing some adventuring outside !! We would’ve done more if we brought proper shoes😂 . The owners were so nice and had a drink with them upon checkin. The husband also told us about the food house next door and it did not disappoint . Overall a great location to do some hiking and eat good food. How many people can say they ate dinner in an old 1600 customs house ?! And the views you wake up to in the morning...priceless .

Everything was fine except it pretty far from city. They don’t supply dinner. You may either have dinner in the city before arriving, about 10 miles away, or eat next door restaurant. Quite and pretty country environment we like.

Has a great location with amazing views of the mountain. Near hiking trails, great food and within short driving distance to Innsbruck. Great for other outdoor activities such as biking and skiing (in season)

This hotel was wonderful. Mari and Marco made you feel totally at home. Location was close to Mittenwald in Germany as well as other towns in Austria. The Geisterklamm (ghost gorge) was a short walk down the road and a definite must do. The walking /cross country ski paths provided amazing scenery. Emil was the perfect host at the restaurant next door (Gasthaus Klammgeist Alte Zollhaus) and the food wonderful. We loved this hotel so much we stayed one more night than planned!!

Nice pension in secluded valley. Mittenwald can be reached driving 3 kilometers trough Forest on a narrow Road. Good and tasty Breakfest, fantastic Restaurant next door. Very nice Finnish host. No Elevators which makes es hard for people with walking disabilities to managed narrow stairs.. Help with luggage was provided by the Lady of the house. Linen's and towls are changed on request.Perfect place for people who love outdoor recreation.

They couldn't find our booking when we got there and if it wasn't for the confirmation email, they were going to send us away. Afterwards we were taken to our room and were not shown or told of any of the ameneties. The bed was very uncomfortable. Slept less than two hours. At check out, we were given a form to fill and then left alone without knowing what to do with it. The owner was sitting on the next room with her back towards us and never once acknowleged our presence or apologize for the confusion the night before.

Great place to stay. We stayed one night and arrived late, the host stayed awake to greet us and get us settled in. Breakfast was filling with a lot to offer for choices. We have been to Germany and Austria before and this was by far one of our favorite places we’ve stayed. They had parking for our car and our room had a beautiful Mountain View, just wish we hadn’t more time to stay!

Wonderful stay. Quiet room next to a majestic forest where we watched the deer stroll by. Lovely breakfast in the morning. We are also very grateful that our host directed us to the gorge walk. It was astonishing. We would happily return to this beautiful, friendly spot.

This is a cozy bed and breakfast. It has an authentic Bavarian look to it inside and out. If you want a nice getaway from technology and the city life thenow this is your spot. Hidden in between the Austrian alps you can enjoy the beautiful night skies. Friendly staff and welcoming hosts.

I loved this place! I didn’t want to leave!! This little quaint treasure, tucked deep in the Alps gave us a feeling of stepping back in time! The staff was friendly and most accommodating! Breakfast was phenomenal! And the room’s bed was the most comfortable!! Thank you for making our trip to Innsbruck a delightful and memorable experience!

Hosts were incredible, helpful and fun to chat with! Great location by hiking, Mittenwald, and great food literally next door. The dinner we had next door was the best or second best of our entire 12 day holiday. Highly recommend staying at this pension, they could charge double and we'd come again.

Quiet rest stop
Friendly and spotlessly clean guest house with an excellent breakfast ( both hot and cold buffet). It is out of town, but next door is a great place to eat. It is just a short walk from a lovely walk around the gorge.

The staff at Barenwirt were incredibly kind and helpful. As a solo traveller I very much appreciated their willingness to help me plan my itinerary, and find the best way to get around (I also did not have a car, but they assisted me with the bus system and local walking trails so I could access what I wanted to). Additionally, their friendly attitudes were appreciated! Breakfast was wonderful with a variety of breads, jams, meats, cheeses, fruit, fruit juices, tea, coffee, fruit, etc. I liked the location as this place is out of town, so it was a nice break from the busyness of a city. However, it was about a 3 km walk into town and the bus to town only runs by the hotel every couple of hours, so without a car I ended up doing quite a bit of walking. This was all right as there is a nature trail that connects the hotel to Mittenwald so that was a scenic walk. However, by the end of my 4 day stay it was getting to be a bit of a tiresome walk. A personal car or hiring a taxi into town (about 10-15 Euros each direction) would make the trip easier. The hotel was very clean and had a classic atmosphere of the area. I loved all the woodwork in the rooms, and I enjoyed waking up and looking out to see the mountains. Ensure you have a way to make phone calls upon checking in. Sometimes staff leaves the desk, but they always leave a phone number to call and can assist you to check in over the phone.

How lucky were we to find this gem!! Great price, breakfast & not your typical cookie cutter hotel. So glad we picked this - traffic and too many people down the mountain in town made the quiet evenings even better! Walking trail by the gorge & waterfalls within a block! We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is cozy and the room had everything we needed for our family of 5. It was a bit dated, but still very good. Breakfast was excellent and the staff was very nice. They even had gluten free options for my daughter, which I appreciated. The hotel also has a very nice sauna available for guests
