"Friendly/helpful staff. Decent breakfast area with basic choices. Rooms were nice-ish but in need of some updating and soundproofing. Good parking. The grounds seem to be a nesting/hanging out area for seagulls and geese so anywhere you walk outside on the grass/beach is covered in poop. I wouldn't want to spend too much time in the outdoor area so if you are looking for that, this may not be the hotel for you. Close enough to town but you will need a car to get there."

"We were in Mackinac Island for a couple days with the first day being for work. We stayed the first night at the Grand Hotel, while it looks amazing from the outside and should be an elevated experience, the room was not at all nice and very disappointing. We had already scheduled to stay in town the second night at the Pontiac lodge partly for the price compared to the Grand. We were very happy and pleased with the room that was much nicer than the Grand and had a nice view of Main street. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom with a large soaking tub. If you want to stay in town I can highly recommend the Pontiac!"

"Our Island House stay could have not been better. Although an older hotel it is updated and very well taken care of. Room was amazing, staff friendly. Customer service was top notch. Will definitely stay at the Island House on my next visit to Mackinac Island. Location was perfect."

"The best thing about the property is the woman at the front desk named Hope. She’s a pure delight and was so so helpful with tips on places to go and see and tips about the ferry for Mackinac Island! She is beautiful inside and out. We enjoyed our stay and the restaurant and the pizza!! Highly recommend and say hi to Hope for me!!"

"Wife and I loved the property as it was right in the thick of the activity on Main Street but it was probably the most quiet room we have found. The bedroom is separated by a door which keeps out any hallway noise which is great. All was up to date and fresh. Don’t hesitate to book this one."
