"Peaceful, friendly, and right on the beach – perfect stay in Lamai We stayed at Sand Sea Beach Resort in Lamai for our anniversary and absolutely loved it. The whole place has such a peaceful, relaxing vibe — quiet but still close enough to everything you need. We booked the Royal Suite with Seaview, which was spotless, spacious, and literally steps from the beach. Having our own private sun loungers right out front was perfect. The staff even decorated the bed with a “Happy Anniversary” message and provided slippers and bathrobes — a really thoughtful touch. The staff were all incredibly friendly and courteous, always smiling and quick to reply to messages on WhatsApp whenever we needed anything. Breakfast was pretty simple — a few rotating hot dishes (usually a Thai option, pancakes or French toast, and sausages), plus an egg station and continental bits like croissants, pastries, and coffee. Lunch and dinner, though, were brilliant. The food was delicious, with both Thai and European options that were all super tasty and fairly priced. The beach area was clean and well maintained, Wi-Fi was decent (not lightning fast but fine for browsing), and the laundry service was great too. The location couldn’t be better — you literally step out of your room onto the sand, and you’re less than 10 minutes from a 7/11 and about 15 from the Lamai Night Market. It’s the ideal mix of peaceful and convenient. Great views, excellent staff, peaceful stay!"

"This was my third time staying at this hotel and I was very pleased to find nothing had changed in the last 8 years as it's gone from being Le Meridien to The Lamai. Staff are extremely helpful, friendly and professional at all times and keep the whole resort immaculately maintained. Hotel reception use WhatsApp to make arrangements and updates hassle free - whether arranging transfers, updating on events around the hotel, or general queries. I stayed in a room a tier up from the type with a shared pool I'd stayed in before - the Pool Villa granted me my own (circa 6m sq) pool, 2 loungers and an shaded seating area with ceiling fan. As a smaller boutique resort it was lovely and peaceful, whilst I don't think it's formally adult only, it feels refined and mature. Getting into the heart of Lamai is a short (1-2km) walk, and can mostly be done along the beach. Taxis and scooter taxi can be easily booked via the Grab app, with a scooter turning up in a typical 3mins and fare to the centre no more than 60baht. The hotel recommended a hire company which I hired my own scooter from for the duration of the stay and the ring road makes exploring the island and it's sights easy - you can easily get into more rural hilly areas within 15mins ride from the hotel. I really enjoyed the tranquility of my two week stay and I didn't want to leave (must ensure my next stay doesn't have an 8 year gap)"

"I loved staying with them and getting to know them. They are lovely, honest, hard working people and their property is well maintained, clean and spacious. If I could change a few things. Do not allow smoking in the balconies. The rest of us who don’t smoke suffocate with windows open and no one came to Thailand to stay with windows closed. Parking bikes outside people’s entrances is another issue. There were times I didn’t have access to my property especially as I needed to bring my bicycle in because bikes were parked outside. Not to mention the noise and general disturbance from continuous parking in and out as it was right outside the balcony etc. having said that, I would happily return and would be even happier to see some changes taking into account the above. "The hotel is on a lovely beach, a short walk to restaurants and bars in a quiet location, staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent for me as I like an English breakfast followed with a bowl of yoghurt fresh fruit, nuts/ seeds after a fresh cup of coffee from the coffee machine. The hotel restaurant in on the beach front a plus. The rooms are a few years old, but are nice with a comfortable bed and a balcony overlooking the green walkways which connects the hotel complex. Would I stay here again, yes it gets my approval. The only problem was the shower water pressure was a bit erratic. I had a fantastic holiday with my son here who also loved it."

"Nice resort on beachfront. We had a superior Seaview room which was very comfortable. Glad we didn’t take a bungalow as we were told they were noisy with lots of mosquitos. Lovely pool with lots of sun lounges and more sun lounges on the beach. Close to everything including shops restaurants and food markets. Enjoyed staying here and extended our stay for another 5 nights."
