Didn’t like very much, used dental floss in hand basin. Lock on door doesn’t work well a huge safety issue here incase of evacuation. Carpet appears filthy and badly stained. Extremely poor outside lighting. Very good bed. What a shame the complex appears well worn and dirty and unsafe.

The room we were in was a good size and the bed was comfortable, The young lady from Latvia was very helpful and a great asset to the motel. The only thing we would have preferred would have been a couch that you could make into a bed if required.

The apartments are in a convenient area of Lake Tekapo with views of the lake and cafes and shops nearby. The bathroom is large and very clean but the rest of the property is tired and the carpet positively disgusting. Our least favourite property in NZ so far. The owners are apparently refurbishing but in the meantime some efforts to clean the carpets are a minimum requirement. The rooms are fairly cheap but it's a false economy if you really don't enjoy you stay, as we didn't.

Basically, these are motel rooms at backpacker prices. Yes, they could use a paint and an upgrade. However, they are: 1. A great deal, our 9-year-old had a room separate to ours and it had a fully equipped kitchen 2. Very clean and warm 3. Super close to town

The carpet was dirty,whole room needs repainting,very outdated and expensive for the condition.Heater didn’t work,thankfully staff member did find another one for us.No outside lighting at nighttime,had to walk upstairs in the dark.Positive,location is great and nice towels.Only good for one night stay.

Reception was only open for four hours. When we arrived at about 7pm (having been there previously at 1pm) after collecting the key from the board, I found that there weren't single beds in the room. It was resolved by a phone call and converting the sofa to a bed but I'nm not sure what would have happened if we arrived later and no-one answered the phone call.

Travellers in 2018 mentioned, it's a run down property and in 2024, it's not been refurbished and carpet is in it's worst stage. People will asthma and with breathing problems will be suffocated in the rooms. Location is excellent and that's the only positive thing. I will advise people to stay away from this motel. Room rate is very high and owner is not worried about well-being of the customers. Health and Hotel inspection departments should inspect this motel and close this motel until it's refurbished

Had a view of the lake from the balcony between some buildings but couldn't have been closer to just walk to the edge. Room was a bit disappointing - tired and in need of some tlc - stained carpets, old microwave which smelt, no sink for washing up. It didn't match up to other similar priced motels we stayed at. In fantastic place though.

A great stay for me and my friends! So many things to do! We were able to hike a lot with the village motel being so close! We could walk to the lake, and see the stars at night! Loved this place!

Had room on 2nd floor with lake view, not much of one, but a lake view. Had no sink to wash dishes in, was given a tub with dishwashing liquid & cloth, but no tea towel. Ended up washing dishes we used in bathroom sink. Rooms aircon setting (on wall heater) also didn't work, glad room had ceiling fan

Beautiful spot by the lake, quick and easy check in check out. Comfortable bed, very clean. Lovely big bathroom and jacuzzi bath was a bonus after a day walking! No complaints at all.

Motel is in a great location in this small town. Everything you would want to see or do is within walking distance. Nice variety of restaurants. Room was adequate, with a fridge, microwave and some kitchen supplies. No sink in kitchen area so had to fill coffee pot and water bottles from bathroom sink. Nice to have a balcony, but needed a small table out there along with the two chairs.

Comfortable and clean enough to bookmark this hotel and stay here again. Lucky our room was at the ground floor, will hate to have to lug the luggage up the stairs. Love the closeness of the hotel to the Lake.

There were numerous issues with the room. There was black mold around the shower and the bath area. There was missing caulking around the bathtub. The shower door did not close all the way causing the floor to get wet when taking a shower. The Wi-Fi did not work in the room and would only work if we went outside. When we questioned the quality of the Wi-Fi they said it was because of the Alpine environment. Yet the Wi-Fi worked when we were outside the room. We feel the room was overpriced for what condition it was in.

A bit expensive for what it is but the convenience is unparalleled. Walking distance to everything except the hot springs. Biggest downside was there was a lot of light coming through the frosted glass door which made it difficult to sleep well.
