The front desk staff didn't seem very engaged or welcoming and lacked proper guest service skills. The lobby had Hilton shareholders, which was nagging.
I paid extra for a lake view room, but you really have to strain to see the lake—it felt misleading. The room itself could have used better cleaning and upkeep; for instance, there was chipping paint, a faded toilet seat, and some unpleasant marks on the walls. Overall, the cleanliness of the hotel left a lot to be desired. While I understand that older properties can show wear, they should still be well-maintained.
When I raised my concerns with the staff, they mentioned that the entire property was in similar condition and refused to offer a different room.
On the positive side, the bell staff were excellent, and check-in and check-out went smoothly. The pool and hot tub were enjoyable, and having lifeguards on duty was a nice touch. However, the hot tubs are actually three connected units, not three separate ones.
Unfortunately, the showers and bathrooms in the pool area were out of order for the entire two days of our stay.
Del soul Restaurant is hard to get a hold of no one answers. The food was not great.
