Chateau Guetsch

"We had a nice stay at Château Gütsch. The highlight of the hotel is undoubtedly the spectacular view from the terrace, which overlooks Lucerne, the lake and the surrounding mountains. It’s the main reason to stay here and it’s truly breathtaking, especially in the evening. Our room was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which was much appreciated during the hot weather. The breakfast was also very good, with a nice selection. One of the hotel’s biggest advantages is its location. Although it sits on top of the hill, getting to the city centre is incredibly easy thanks to the private Gütsch funicular, which takes you down to the centre in just a couple of minutes. The only aspect of our stay which could be better was dinner at the hotel restaurant. While the setting and views are beautiful, the food itself was fairly average and didn’t quite match the standard we expected from a hotel of this calibre. If you’re looking for a hotel with unforgettable panoramic views, and easy access to the city, Château Gütsch is an excellent choice."

"Great hotel. Excellent food options! We were very impressed with the food at the brasserie. Our room was perfect and we loved the layout. Our only complaint iwas that they shut the bar down for a private party at 10pm. We found that very odd and disappointing that we couldn’t have a night cap at our hotel. But it was obviously not the end of the world. We felt they should have rented out a private spaces to the group and not block hotel guests from using the hotel bar."
