"This was a great stay for our family. Two adults and 3 kids (two teens and a preteen) fit comfortably in one of the larger rooms. The rooms were simple, but clean and a great base for exploring the Lake District. Staff was very friendly and Breakfast was wonderful! "

"Oakfold house is convenient located in Bowness on Windermere, a mere 2-min walk to bus-stops going towards the pier or to Grasmere. We had also walked 15 mins to the pier and 15 mins to Windermere town centre.Its proprietors, Chris & Robin are attentive and hospitable hosts who ensure we have a pleasant and memorable stay in Windermere, giving us advice to make our way around. "Our room (number 4) was bright and airy, dual aspect and extremely spacious. Beautifully decorated with quality art deco style accessories. A huge comfortable bed and immaculate shower room en-suite. An unexpected surprise was a small fridge containing bottled water, juice, porridge pots and cereal bars - all of which were replaced each day.Our only disappointment was that the Bath Tap and Chowder Co. was closed for the duration of our stay."
