"This was my second stay here, and I loved it. The dorm is well maintained, and there is a lot of room for luggage with a little desk area next to the bed. There is also a downstairs common area and tables outside to sit, which means there is plenty of space to relax. The location is very convenient, close to great restaurants and a short walk to transportation."

"C’était trop bien. L’hôte est vraiment aux petits soins et attentionnée. Elle donne des conseils sur des endroits à visiter. Elle est également soucieuse de la bonne santé de ses hôtes. Elle est gentille et aimable. Si vous un petit moment, faites un tour dans son restaurant !"

"The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. We loved the rooftop restaurant and bar. The coffee shop and bakery were wonderful in the morning. Staff were terrific and helped us book a car and driver for a day sightseeing."
"Solario Hotel, Kyoto: great location, pricey for what you get
The location is the standout. It's easy to reach the main sights and getting around the city is simple, which makes it a very convenient base for exploring Kyoto. The rest of the stay was solid: everything was pretty good and nothing really let us down.
The one drawback is value. Given what the room rate was, I expected a bit more, and it could be better for the price. Still, if location is your priority, it's hard to beat.
Verdict: Recommended for the location. Just go in knowing the price is on the high side."
"The hotel is brand new and in pristine condition, but there were some notable operational quirks. It doesn’t seem like management is able to decide whether this is a luxury property or a select service hotel - even though there were two reception desks staffed at all times, the staff were actively pushing customers to use the three self-service kiosks for all operations (check-in, breakfast coupons, check-out) and actually doing the work for them on those machines. Not sure what the point of that was or whether it should be the case in a luxury property. Similarly, the public bath in the basement is pretty underwhelming, if pristine. All that said, the rooms were spotless, staff were very helpful and spoke English impeccably, and breakfast was great both in terms of food selection and quality."
"There are lots of amenities here -like the public bath and the big fancy breakfast- but assume you will need to compete for every resource, from a breakfast table to a shoe locker. The lobby felt like a combination of a college dorm and an airport gate. Things are generally good in your room, and all supplies were in order. Walls are thin enough I was woken up by my neighbor’s alarm every morning. Breakfast waits at 6:45 AM were about 45 minutes. I spilled some hand wash soap on the area in front of the sink and learned that the floor was not nearly as clean as it appeared."
