"The hosts are a friendly, experienced hostel business family. I enjoyed the breakfasts and the homey vibe. I'd like to leave two hopefully helpful pieces of advice for the visitors. If you're using a ride-hailing service, the car is not supposed to stop at the front of the house; it's better to use the spot on W 35th Ave or the back alley to get on / off. If your booked room is on the second floor and your luggage is heavy, be ready to lift it by yourself, as there is no elevator available."

"It would be great to have shared public areas for consumers to use. Since the owners are staying home daily, it’s not very comfortable to use the living room and kitchen. The towels are also quite smelly. It would be wonderful if the heater or air conditioning were working so that there’s fresh air circulating. "

"Staff were excellent and very helpful and friendly. The room had a beautiful view and was very comfortable. It is dated and could use a renovation but the location was excellent and offered many options for food, shopping, and enjoying the beauty of Vancouver. "

"There is definitely no complaint about the location and the cleanliness. But the water flow of the shower head is too weak. The ladder of the bunker bed is made of thin metal bars, therefore it is hard and dangerous to climb up and down. Finally if a bath tub is available, it will be much better. Anyway, it is a nice stay. "

"Outstanding customer service, particularly during check in. The 5th floor lounge and restaurant is tranquil and beautiful. Location was ideal for visits to Yaletown, False Creek waterfront, and downtown Robson area. "

"Convenient for a quick layover. Pool and hot tub were extraordinary with an excellent view. The rest (coffee makers, entertainment services and room controls are in need of an upgrade. We had a corner room shaped like a rhombus which left us feeling askew (literally). The restaurants were closed but there’s an excellent alternative at the corner called Cask (expensive but amazing)."

"5-Star Service Every staff member at The Loden is welcoming, informative, and went out of their way to please. We stayed in a room with two beds that was spacious and bright, with comfortable beds, a beautiful bathroom with separate shower and a giant tub, and daily "treats" and lemon water for turndown service. Lobby has complimentary coffee and tea, and the attached restaurant was excellent (although too dimly lit!).Location is excellent-just a 5-minute walk to the seawall, then additional...

"Our room was fantastic, clean and spacious. We had the pleasure of dealing with Jenny checking in and she was wonderful! Will definitely be staying here when we are in Vancouver again!"

"What a delightful and peaceful space! The breakfast was delicious and I had the chance to meet some other guests. The staff were impeccably friendly and helpful. There's a skytrain station just a few minutes walk away giving quick and easy access into downtown or to the airport, with stunning mountain views along that walk. The bed was a bit too soft for me but I've found hotels generally also err on the side of softness so I can't really ding them for that."
