The host was very friendly and helpful and beds comfortable, however there were a few things we were disappointed with the breakfast was very sparse(ie. No fruit or healthy items), I recommend bring your own things. There was a odd smell in the bathroom.
The welcoming was zero. Although the host knew we were coming. Although he didnt call to confirm. When we arrived he was not there. So I called him. And he came and gave us the keys and said sorry will go for dinner. He didnt even wait to see if we needed anything. For starters like what's the Wifi pass... or where to go from here to bearest restraunts. Or even I had to request clean towels because he forgot to provide. How professional. I am just wondering why this place got a 5 star in tripadvisor. The place might have been better if yhe host were considerate and have concern about his guests minimum requirements.
Something different. The place is mainly locals, will never have crowds. The house is super clean, the staff Troji is very friendly, kind, helpful, easy to communicate, smart, and resourceful. My kids at 3yo and 5yo enjoyed very much here.
Troji and his intern Nacho were great hosts, friendly and accommodating. Nacho took me and another guest on a hike, and we all joined Troji for dinner one night at a nearby restaurant. The hostel was clean and quiet, with plenty of cooking implements and condiments and fridge space. I enjoyed playing the guitar there, binge-reading one of the books, and taking walks through the farms nearby. (That was my one disappointment - the farms all have plastic roofing, like greenhouses, so you can enjoy glimpses of the flowers up close but it spoils the view a bit.) A great break from heat and city life. I'd stay there again for sure!
It was like a home stay and away from the noisy town. It was beautiful to see the daisies outside our windows when we woke up. The host was very easy going and let us be home
Schönes, natürliches Hostel in den Cameron Highlands. Es ist von Vorteil, mit dem eigenem Auto anzureisen, da das Hostel ca. 25 Minuten Autofahrt vom Hauptort Tanah Rata entfernt liegt.
Good for those who travel in a group and plan to Bbq.
Breakfast is provided but you have to cook on your own.
Environment is clean. No mosquito even windows are opened throughout the day and night.
Perfect getaway for independent, nature-loving ppl
Westwood Highland Hostel is the perfect getaway for independent, nature-loving backpackers and travelers. While Tanah Rata as Cameron Highlands‘ central town and tourist hotspot is dominated by gigantic hotels and apartment buildings, the slightly out-of-town guesthouse is located in a quiet neighborhood on a peaceful flower farm. The guesthouse is flawlessly clean, designed and decorated in a modern way and has all the facilities you‘d need (fully equipped kitchen, fridge to use, washing machine, small snack bar including cold beverages (also beer), comfy beds,...). And of course, it has Troji.
Troji is the most friendly and helpful host you can imagine. As a young globetrotter himself, he knows exactly how to offer his guests the most enjoyable stay. As a self-taught barista he treated my gf and me to some amazing Cappuccini - something hard to find in tea-focused Malaysia. He invited us over for a family dinner, which was nothing short of the best authentic Malay food that we have had throughout our journey. He even took me out on a fantastic 3h forest-, jungle- and tea-plantation-hike. Born and raised in Cameron Highlands, he obviously knows the best trails in the backcountry, but also has great advice for the more popular walks like Mossy Forest.
Staying with Troji was a great experience filled with heart-warming hospitality. If you are seeking a warm-welcoming guesthouse with a truly wonderful host, Westwood Highland Hostel is your place to be.

Natural Setting
Stay in a triple room overlooking the flower farm for 2 nights. The host (Tokku) and his family is very nice. One the first night, the father drove us out for dinner at a nearby restaurant and back. They have steamboat treat for us on the second night. The food were good. Thank you. Tokku drove us to the bus stop for local bus to the Tana Rata bus terminal on the check out day. We enjoy our short stay among nature.
Westwood Highland is the most lovely place to stay! Tucked away from the touristy side of the Cameron Highlands, it is the perfect place to rest and unwind. There seemed to always be some cool furniture projects on the go, and the staff/work-aways are so incredibly friendly and lovely to hang out with. Even though it's a little ways out of the main hub, Tanah Rata, it's not even hard to get to--you can take a bus or hitchhike very easily! Definitely stay there!
