"A beautiful spot in the forest, although just a bit far from the sights in Nara. The staff was lovely and the room quite comfortable, by Western standards for a Japanese room (although the futons were by far the hardest and most uncomfortable of the three ryokans we visited). The meals lived up to the reviews, beautifully presented true kaiseki."

"The staff are fabulous, very attentive and customer focused. We had an outdoor private bath which was wonderful and highly recommended. Our one complaint is the beds (futon) they were very thin and hard. We did not sleep well. "

"This was a great place to stay. Having a private bathing time in the onsen was so great. The beds were comfortable and the staff was friendly. It was the perfect location for access to historical sites. There was a lot of great shopping nearby as well."

"We were upgraded to a fabulous Suite.
Really extra special with all the trappings.
Keep in mind this hotel IS NOT, in the CBD, but in an area that is quiet and has few conveniences right around the close proximity
But the Hotel is Grand and the Staff is Top Rated."
"We had a lovely stay at Hotel Emion Kyoto! The hotel and facilities were beautiful. We enjoyed the panoramic rooftop during the day and night. Our hotel room was very spacious and the bathroom was perfect for taking baths after a long day of walking. Would definitely recommend! I cannot wait to come back."
"The staff was friendly and provided excellent service. They were very helpful with luggage forwarding. They never hesitated to help with anything we asked. We enjoyed the free drinks (coffee, tea, water, cocoa). We had a tatami mat room and it was very comfortable. The water closet and wet room was very clean. The hotel is within half a block to Kyoto station, a taxi stand and 7-11, so it's a very convenient location. There is a public bath, but we didn't try it. We used the paid laundry and it left our clothes wet after the dryer cycle. We had to set an additional cycle. The laundry was busy, but it was nice to be able to pack less knowing we had access to it."
