When we arrived, they refused to give us a room Evan though we booked as they gave the room to somebody else and we had no choice but to find a new hotel. Would not recommend this to anybody visiting Istanbul online.

When we arrived we were told our room was the basic room and that if we wanted to upgrade we could for an addition cost. I asked to view both rooms, we were then told we couldnt view the room we booked because there was someone else in it. So our room was given away and we were also expected to pay to change rooms, because it suited them. We were then told that we could stay in the upgraded room for free for the 1st night but would then have to change the next day. The upgraded room was no upgrade the room was tiny and you could hear everything from the people outside to the people in other rooms and also people coming up the stairs. Over all the hotel and area was a let down and we cut our 3 night stay down to 1 night and only stayed the 1st night because it was late by the time we got to the hotel

The positive point was JUST reception guy. But the negatives were as below: 1- I booked family room but they'd already gave it to someone else!!! I had to stay for two nights in a single room! 2- The room which was given to me had a very bad condition. Even the bathroom didn't have electricity! You have to open the door & ... (LOL) 3- The hotel location is somewhere which no TAXI will come to pick you up. 4- The worst thing was SMOKING surrounded me and the rooms weren't isolated to prevent you from that. 5- I know that the less price means less facilities but smoking, electricity and property conditions depend on good manner of business. Overall, just give ONE star for guys who were really kind and polite. Thank them BUT it doesn't mean to give STARS more than ONE.

Watch out for parking. When I booked it says parking included but guess what?! It wasn’t. I have to look around with 2 little tiered kids… not fair… pay 160tl for overnight parking… I don’t like false advertising!!!

Staff very rude don't keep their promise will try to change your original booking and moving you to 4th floor with no lift or ask you to pay for other lower ground floors. Also people smoking everywhere all over the hotel all the time.

ear guest. how rude you did. the hotel is not the elevator and the hotel's cheapest room knowing that the economic room did not make the reservation. When it detects smoke the whole hotel will ring an alarm bell.However they can smoke. You can't tell the truth.

Nice and clean. Staff was friendly, but there was problem with communication in English. We booked a budget room and when we got there we were told it's already taken, so we were forced to upgrade to a better room. Wasn't too expensive though, so all good. Good value for money in good area.

Very disappointed
Hello I had a very bad experience from the beginning firstly there is no lift if you have luggage and then the staff are quite rude and unaproachable. Next they have no washing machine to wash clothes. Next my room was so small i couldn't take 2 bit steps either direction. Next they cleaned my room and changed the bedding etc on the third day after me having to request it and argue with them. Next the room had no window and it got very very hot even though the country is cold when I was there i had to keep the air conditioning open. Next the water in the shower room builds up on the floor as the hole is blocked where water exits from so all your feet are in dirty water. To be honest there is too many issues in this hotel i don't have time to go through . My advice is there is many hotels near by this hotel go elsewhere if you want to have a happy holiday.

Good for short visit.
The room was clean and fulfiled with facility I need. But upstair is restaurant, so it was a little bit noisy even not so much. And i had to go out for smoking paasing through the reception. Except that, every thing is fine for short stay.

A wonderful affordable hotel & a wonderful staff
A wonderful hotel and a wonderful staff. Everything in the hotel looks new, especially rooms furniture. The Wifi is excellent. The location is excellent too. It is close to Al Fatih Mosque and everything needed is nearby. The front officer Mr. Shukrat was an excellent young man who welcomed us and made us at comfort. I have been to tens of hotels in Turkey. This is one of the best ones I have been to. I recommend it.

Enjoyed my stay.
My stay at Fatih Hotel was enjoyable and relaxing. Room, although small, had a very comfortable bed, enough storage space, and a very well mainained bathroom. I was actually very impressed by how clean the hotel was. The hotel is well linked with the central area of Istanbul via bus, tram and metro. The spice market, which is pretty much close to everything, can by reached by bus within literally 15min. The staff was super nice and helpful. The only hickup was that the hotel seemed overbooked when I arrived (on Good Friday) and I was placed for the night in one of the basement rooms, which was okay for the night, but I do not recommend renting out these rooms for a longer stay. If you like to sleep at night like I do, you will find the basemsnt too noisy.

In general, as the title says, it is a clean and comfortable place. The rooms are clean, a big plus is that it was renovated recently, so everything is new. One thing to note, is that the hotel is actually an old building that seemed to be an apartment building, just aconditionated as a hotel. Therefore, you will not find the normal reception, or a waiting hall, it is a bit "informal" but nothing to worry about. At the end, if what you want is a clean bed and a good bathroom to stay, this place has that without a question. The breakfast is OK, nothing really special. It seems that the hotel is getting a relaunch or something like that, therefore the "new" before "Fatih Hotel". So the staff is having the intention to help you with everything, sadly their English skills are not the best ones but they have a good will to serve you and keep you happy. Sadly, I would not recommed the hotel because the location is not very suitable for sight seeing. The public transport connections are bad. In Istanbul, the simple transportation methods are the tram and the subway, and both are quite far away from the hotel. Metro is almost 700mts away, and tram about 1.5km away. If you want to go to the Topkapi palace, you need to take the metro and then the tram, so you spend around 30 minutes in that. There is a bus stop nearby, but believe me, it is not worthy to spend your time learning how to use the bus system. Better to spend your time enjoying the city.

Hotel staffs always like to offer help. The hotel is close to the main roads and you can even walk to different travel spots and enjoy the scenery around. The room is quite small but clean and tidy enough.

This hotel is located in a narrow valley in downtown without parking. It's divided to 2 part, reception and an small restaurant and 2 rooms without windows downstairs and the rooms upstairs without elevator. check in is 2 p.m and check out at 11 a.m which is different from what explained in advertisement. breakfast serves between 8:30 to 10:30 which is not suitable for a visitor. exactly after 10:30 the receptionist declined to give me the breakfast even it was ready. the other guy in reception was warmer and kind and helped me kindly.

I had only one afternoon and night in Istanbul before making my connection to Berlin. The New Fatih Hotel was the one bright spot in a rainy, cold, traffic-congested stay. The staff was friendly and helpful, their English was excellent, and I was bumped up to a better room at no extra cost;altogether a warm, clean and excellent place. I picked the hotel because of its closeness to the University and the Grand Bazaar, and its location in the old district; unfortunately, the weather and traffic ruined my chance to visit these places. Recommend the New Fatih Hotel.

Excellent hotel with extremely kind staff
The hotel was really nice and clean. Very well connected to the Ataturk airport, Taksim and other parts of the city. Sultanahmed area is within the walking distance. The neighbourhood is quiet and safe. We stayed there for 5 days. Hotel staff was extremely kind and helpful with everything. We took a transportation with the hotel because we arrived quite late, at 2 am, and a plane was delayed for an hour. The guy still waited for us and was really helpful with our stuff.

Nice hotel amongst locals away from tourists
Really friendly and helpful staff, some of whom could speak English. The location of the hotel is great. Down a quiet side street but wasn’t too difficult for taxis to find. Near to a main road full of modern shops, public transport and the beautiful Fatih mosque. But what really pleased us was that it is just around the corner from local shops and a small community park where the locals, young and old, congregate just to gossip, eat, drink tea and relax in the warm evenings. We felt totally safe in this area and surrounding streets, in the daytime and evenings. If you want to see the culture and how locals live rather than the tourist traps, this is the place for you. The only downside to the hotel was that we chose a basement room. We had no problems with the room itself. It was clean and adequate. The ensuite with double-sized shower was fantastic. But, we were not aware that the room is right next to the reception- kitchenette-dining area. The noise of breakfast being prepared, the television, phone ringing and other guests will either wake you up early or keep you awake. The room is also located directly below a café/men’s club next door to the hotel. People in the cafe seemed to spend all day moving tables and chairs on a stone floor. The scraping sound will disturb your sleep. It goes on through the night and early hours of the next morning. My advice would be to go for this hotel but AVOID THE BASEMENT ROOMS.

Loved this hotel, guy insisted on carrying both our very heavy bags up stairs for us, great breakfast included. This is a bit away from the main tourist area which is why we loved it so much, very close to fatih mosque -easy walk there and market every we'd think it was. The mosque is more open to tourists and genuine feeling than the ones in sultanhamet. Can actually get a feel for the mosque here. Great restuarant down rd bit away from main rd called taiba restuarant-not really able to speak English at restuarant but amazing food and seriously cheap!
