Rooms are clean. Staff is friendly. But that’s about it. Rooms look bigger on the pictures. Sewer smell in the bathroom. Mold on the walls on the terrace lobby. Breakfast is terrible. Location is great however. It’s below the standards for a 4 star hotel.

Hotel was infested with bed bugs. They changed us from room three times and all three rooms had bed bugs. We were not given any refund back or any other option other than to stay in the third room that they provided. We all had rashes everywhere and could not sleep. We ask to speak to a Manager and were told their manager was on vacation. Would not recommend anyone to stay there.

The room was very small, and the bed was the smallest double I’ve ever seen. 2 people can hardly fit in it. Even though they offered cleaning everyday the rooms werent very clean. The breakfast is not worth it, only ate 1 morning and I never went back. The pool and sauna was okay but they didnt have any towels to provide… we had to go to our dripping wet. Location was good, staff was very polite and helpful. To be completely honest, I would not book again.

The reception staff were excellent, helpful and courteous. The service at the restaurant upstairs on the terrace was not good. When we arrived at the hotel restaurant, the gentleman that met us was aware we only wanted Tea so allowed us in - only to be told by the waiter that they don’t serve tea. We decided to leave but the gentleman that had allowed us in asked why we were leaving, we explained that we have been informed there is no Tea. He was surprised and tried to get us to stay. We explained we are staying at the hotel but shame we can’t even get tea. Not sure why he was surprised to hear we are staying there, he apologised and again tried to get us to stay but we declined. It is impossible they don't serve Turkish tea as it is sold everywhere. Breakfast: I was given a dirty cup, informed them and they replied “I don’t speak English”. I said -you can see it is dirty. The housekeeper knocked to come to clean the room but as I woke up to open for her/let her know I was not ready, she came in quickly and I was not even dressed. I was so embarrassed. The rooms were dusty and require modernisation. Cobwebs behind the bed, white powder on the floor by bedside table and mouldy bathrooms by drainage area. On the upside, the beds are so comfortable, water is hot and plenty of towels etc. Amenities was also good - swimming pool & sauna. Steam room was out of order. Location is great, lots of restaurants around, it is buzzing and has great vibes.

We stayed in the luxury condo for the entirety of our stay. It was very clean and Gulhane, the housekeeper was very attentive and kept everything clean for you. I stupidly turned my white cardigan blue and Gulhane offered to fix it for us and she magically turned it white again!! The room also had everything you needed, even a washing machine which was really helpful for us! The only thing I would say is that the pressure of the water wasn’t great and was very slow. The water also went cold after 5 mins. We had to turn on the kitchen sink tap for the hot water to kick in again which wasn’t ideal. The breakfast buffet was good but very limited and standard. Sometimes it was hard to communicate with staff as they don’t know English that well so we had to use google translate most of the time. I feel that when tourists from different countries visit, it is really important for hotel staff to speak English in order to communicate with their guests well and provide excellent customer service. It wasn’t a major issue but it would have been beneficial. The area of the hotel was very good with many food places around you and also Istiklal Caddesi which is literally only a 2 min away from the hotel. The Galata tower was also only 5-10 mins walk. A must visit when you stay. But all in all, the hotel was amazing and so beautiful. It had everything we needed so I would definitely recommend staying here.

We spent 3 nights on a family trip with 3 teenagers, all was excellent, location could not be better, meters from Istiklal street with lot of shopping and dining options. Also walkable to Galata Tower. Definitely a very good option

The hotel is in the heart of the city and near the Istiklal street and the public transport (metro (Shishane, Tophane) and bus). The service and cleanness are good, and the stuff is nice.

The accomodation was very well located and clean and tidy nice decor. The steps are a bit difficult for people with mobility issues. Lifts dont go to all floors. Breakfast was disappointing so didnt bother going again after the first day. The massage was excellent and very good service overall. The highlights good location clean good quality beds and furnishings and spa facilities.

Not really a 4*. It could do with updating its decor. The reception staff were friendly, not the spa though. Found them sleeping on chairs during the day. Not professional and were rude. The Hotel could do with closing for a week and giving it a deep clean. Found black-mould in the en-suite and whirlpool. The staff never cleaned the pool and Sauna facilities. The table in the sauna had the same cup marks for a week! It was convenient being behind Istiklall St. Downside, the music in the evening till 2am. We decided to go and sit there instead of trying to sleep through it. The mini bar fridge door kept falling off. The only mirror in the room was oddly placed near the bed. Not enough coat hangers. Did not want to use the drawers. Thankfully I brought sanitizer to spray the whole room and en-suite, including the sheets and towels. Toilet was dirty on arrival. The breakfast option was not really worth it. Found it was not up to standard. They don’t have enough crockery and glasses as they were being washed and replaced quickly without drying them. Not enough selection. Staff didn’t seem friendly. The visit was during mid August. Maybe the service is better in a quieter period.

The property is so clean and close to everything, The staff are beyond amazing, alway welling and ready to help. I was very happy with my stay, and will defnitly recommend the hotel to friend and family and I will go back again.

nice hotel, but weird spa rules
Ramazan was good & effective in checking us in. However, I have to sent someone a week before to check on our reservation, since when I called them I was told they couldn't verify the reservation number through Expedia. After about 20 mins they were able to find our reservations under our names, so should not have had someone checked our reservations we could have been waiting forever before checking in. Rooms are too small & a bit dirty. Our room was spacious because it was a suite, but still a bit dirty, TV doesn't work well, always no signal. Location is good at the end of Istiklal St. View from the breakfast place was gorgeous, our room was on 3rd floor, so even though we booked suite with sea view, didn't have that much of it.

On the good side, location is great, building is well maintained. Staff is experienced. On the not soo good side: when I went to the terrace and ordered something to drink and enjoy the view, it was not allowed to have anything else except water there. It didn't made sense to me. We had to go on the first floor even if to order tea. Also, the area near the terrace gets very dirty as it exposed to dust and needs better routine maintenance cleaning by wiping the surfaces more regularly.

Dear Moazzam, First of all sorry if we could not meet your expectations in your stay at Grand Hotel de Pera. But we advise you before your arrival to inform that you have a kid will travel with you and book a bit larger room type not the smallest standard room. (Because the standard rooms do not fit an extra bed and we were fully booked/not able to change you for a bigger one because of new year week crowd). It is definitely your fault that you booked a room for 2 people without informing and came 3 people. Also, it is not fair to make this comment by saying that the double bed is small (ofcourse it will not fited). It is sad to us that you do not mentioned anything about our breakfast amazing view, the staff, facilities and location.. Regards,

the location was very good, adjacent to istiklal cd and with a beautiful view of the golden horn. spacious rooms, very good staff. cleanliness levels (bed sheets specifically) can be improved and extra covid measures like packed towels can be implemented overall very good hotel, very reasonable pricing. special shout out to Ramazan at the reception who went out of his way to make our stay perfect
