"This “little hotel” is BIG on cleanliness, comfort, coziness & charm—like staying at a friend’s cool apartment. Our room had a king-sized bed with a sweet, soft quilted coverlet, & plenty of substantial pillows to prop up against the beautiful padded headboard. The muted blue hues, unique fish-patterned wallpaper & wall art, along with all the attractive & different accent pieces suggest an aquatic/island setting, very soothing to our tired bones after a long day’s drive. Our room was spotless, spacious, had all the amenities one could wish for. The shower with its just-right pressure included pleasant smelling shampoo/conditioner/body wash from convenient pumps affixed to the wall. The outside though well maintained is testament to its age, but the inside is a pleasant surprise. If we ever come this way again we will definitely stay here & will recommend it to friends & family. My ONLY complaint, really more of a concern, is that a tiny corner of the laminate flooring by the desk area (the desk is a pleasant departure from the usual hotel desk) sticks up & is somewhat sharp, something that management should address. I give the Bay Inn five stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

"We have family in Petoskey and we stay here every year when we come to visit. The pool and hot tub are a great place to hang out with our family as well as the living room and full kitchen in the one of the suites. It is like having an apartment. There are only two of the suites so book ahead. The staff is always friendly, the rooms are modern and clean. Breakfast is on par with Holiday Inn Express, etc. We will be back next year"
