B&B Stay in Combe Martin

We booked a one night stay really last minute as we weren't sure if we were staying over while visiting friends. The B&B has recently been totally renovated from a derelict building and looks great. All the rooms and bathrooms that we saw look really well presented. The owner, Andrew, was really welcoming and brought us a cream tea just after we arrived and gave us all the necessary information. The breakfast in the morning is included and cooked to order and tasted great. There is also a choice of cereal, pastries and juice. Free parking next to the building. We would definitely recommend staying here. If you are in the area looking for a B&B stay definitely give this a go.

Amazing

Amazing stay. Originally booked for one night wanted to stay the second and they arranged a spare room so we could stay. Really friendly owners, nothing was any trouble for them. Made us feel very welcome, very clean and well decorated rooms. Would happily stay again without any thought. Loved our stay at Lion House

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay Andrew,Agnes and staff all very welcoming nothing too much trouble excellent room, spotlessly clean, would recommend their evening menu and cocktails cannot praise them enough.

Fantastic host, couldn’t be nicer or do more for you! Breakfast fantastic and a great stay, lovely rooms and amazing bath.. Will certainly be returning!

Exceeded expectations

Everything about the stay was absolutely spot on. Arrived very late in the night but Andrew was fantastic about it. The room was large with all amenities needed, clean and well ventilated. The shower room was powerful and the towels were way better than in many hotels I have stayed in. The breakfast was a combination of cereals, fresh fruit, fresh orange , pastries, bread, cold meats, preserves and a choice of hot breakfast from an extensive menu; Eggs Bennedict were great (You can tell andrew is a Cheft by trade) I will be back!

Andrew was an excellent host, assisting with luggage and washing. Nothing was too much trouble in a newly renovated building, with nearby parking off-street. Rooms are superb and food is excellent and well prepared. Gluten - free is catered for. It all made for an excellent stay. Thoroughly recommended.

Used as a stop off on my round Devon cycling tour. Messaged Andrew a few weeks before about bike storage and an instant reply. On arrival I found I had been upgraded from my twin to a double room - nice surprise. Offered tea on arrival and good pointers for food and drink for the evening. Immaculately decorated and clean premise - could not be faulted. Lovely furnishings and some nice decorative touches. Great night's sleep. The cooked to order breakfast was plentiful, with a huge array of options, and superb. I was packed off on my way with a couple of bottles of water straight from the fridge. I got an excellent rate but even the peak rate is great value and easily comparable to hotels costing twice that. Highly recommended.

Hospitality of the highest order

I found the premises exceptionally clean and tidy. Andrew, the host, welcomed me with a Cream Tea and was very courteous and explained everything very clearly. Had a comfortable night and enjoyed a superb, cooked to order breakfast in the morning. Can't recommend Lion house highly enough. 4 Star service, at a very reasonable price.

A very hospitable welcome .Tea and amazing Flapjack brought up to our room by Andrew. A modern and exceptionally clean house.Recently opened and well worth a stay. Good breakfast ,some fruit would be a lovely addition.Would definitely recommend if you want to stay in the gorgeous North Devon area

This unbelievable for the price everything you get here you wouldn’t even receive in a 5 star hotel. Not one thing is out of place and all the Decor is done to a very high standard. I was amazed by the very warm welcome and the breakfast quality.

Definitely recommended

Would definitely recommend this B&B. Beautifully appointed bedroom ( the decor throughout is very good). Arrived quite late but was still greeted at the door with the offer of a cup of tea and home-made scones. More than enough breakfast which was well cooked. Sent off with a couple of bottles of water for the journey. Thanks to andrew for making us so comfortable.
