"Fabulous eco-retreat in the rural wilderness of Sri Lanka. Loved the feel and vibe of this resort. Everyone was super friendly and we came away very relaxed after a two night stay. Unlike anywhere wise we visited on our two week trip. Recommended "
"Une très belle parenthèse, reposante dans une très belle demeure.
In personne aux petits soins et une très bonne cuisine.
En revanche le temps peu parfois paraître long."
"Stayed here for one night after climbing Adam’s Peak and it was perfect for the rest and sleep that was needed. The property was clean, including the room which had a big, comfy bed and hot water. No ac needed as it got chilly in the evening, there was a warm duvet. Staff were extremely nice and friendly, making sure we were well attended do. Food was excellent - we asked to meet with the chef so we could thank him personally as it was that good. All food was cooked fresh. We left early the next...
"Beautiful accommodation, great breakfast, and super friendly staff. The place is a bit remote, but we were aware of that, as we wanted to be surrounded by tea plantations. Simply wonderful."
"* Like:
-- Location: You need to have a car to arrive there, it’s situated in the mountain area among local residents. View is good.
-- Room: Room is super spacious with good view from the balcony. An electric fireplace can generate heat for the room.
-- Staff: Friendly and respond quickly to our demands.
-- Breakfast: Dining room is a little bit small but choice of food is multiple and delicious. Avoid the eat at the same time with the group guests.

"Stayed for 4 nights on the off chance we would have to curfew following the election date but glad we had the extra time here.
The hotel has been closed for renovation but has recent opened 1.5 months and I could not fault it!
The rooms are beautifully designed, lots of space, beautiful Mountain View’s (we had one of the sunrise view rooms but I understand they also have sunset views too) and all amenities included.
Decor around the accommodation itself are also beautiful. Very well designed...
"We did not stay here! They would not check us in even though I showed them we had paid on Expedia. They wanted cash from us. They said Expedia doesn’t pay them and they wanted us to pay again. We didn’t because the place looked dirty and unfinished. We left. Now I’m trying to get my money back from Expedia. i got through on chat, Bupindher said someone from Expedia service would email me but they have not."
"Hotel is very clean, food and breakfast excellent but what pleased us most is the staff who were always available with a smile on their face and always ready to help"
"Backyard Balangoda provides a great Sri Lankan experience, complete with a very friendly dog named Bruno! The incredibly kind owner made sure we had a wonderful stay, sharing interesting information about local life and tasty food. Breakfast, made with local ingredients, was wonderful, especially the tea from his garden and his own roasted coffee. Be sure to try the special Cinnamon Infused Ice Tea – it’s also lovely with some lemon gin in the evening! The scenery is amazing, and the waterfall...
"Lovely old bungalow. The butler service we had was exceptional. It’s cold at night so fires in rooms & hot water bottles in bed at night. Food really good. They don’t have a drink license so happy to serve your own. I just recommend you keep your gin in your room rather in their fridge. "
