Had stayed at Ibis North Point back in 2018, so thought I'd give the Sheung Wan hotel a shot. All previous reviews were pretty accurate, so pleased to say my 9 day stay was very enjoyable.
Staff were eager to please and friendly from the concierge through to housekeepers, all welcoming.
Great convenience to surrounding Sheung Wan and Central districts.
Ding Ding on the doorstep is a huge bonus and Macau ferry terminal a short walk too.
Give the Starbucks on the ground floor a miss unless you are desperate. Way better small coffee shops in the Sheung Wan area.
Great value hotel for the price.
Rooms were very generous sizes for Hong Kong.
Bed was very comfortable.
A wee trick for young players is the TV remote returns to analogue when turned off. So if you want to enjoy the full range of digital channels it doesn't automatically open to digital. Perhaps something the hotel technicians can adjust.
Also late showers weren't always hot. Water supply probably gets high demand, but no excuse really.
A bit of a lift shuffle getting past the 5th floor reception zone, you get used to it eventually but can be annoying.
Would stay here again, but would prefer it had the hotel responded to my online requests for upgrade to harbor view.
