I booked this hotel because they advertise a rooftop bar, sauna, jacuzzi & 24 hour front desk. I got an email from hotel day before checking in about how to access rooftop bar on 10th fl. I let them know in advance I'd be arriving late at night too, which they said was no prob.
When I got there, bellman was asleep on couch lobby. Ok. Fine. Front desk guy wakes him to help me. Not a big deal. I get in elevator and sign posted about the 10th floor (rooftop bar etc) closed for renovation. Bummer I think. The next day I hear very loud banging from the renovations (hammer). Ugh. I go into elevator and there is a a dust cloth covered in dirt and debris (from maintenance crew). Now I am starting to feel like why did I pay 4 star price.
I had to check out very early when I left which I told front desk about ahead of time. Sure no problem ..they assured me soneone would be available.
When checking out both the front desk & bellman were passed out in lobby. It took a while to wake him up. I said I'd leave my bags to get coffee and they'd keep them secure. I grab coffee for 20 mins, come back and they are passed out again.
Listen, if I paid $30 a night for the room, I wouldn't complain. But I was charged about $79 a night. Basically paying for amenities that wasn't available as advertised. If you want to book this room & expect sauna/bar etc. Check whether its even open.
