No fridge in the room, you only get two English tea bags in the room and enough milk in the room for two cups of tea the room, the second day we got more milk but no more tea bags, for the price you pay for...

"This is the first negative review I've ever had to give. We stayed at The Golden Lion Hotel St. Ives. (13-14 Feb) We stayed in Room 20 which was very small and had the constant, very loud noise of the kitchen extractor humming. On the first night it was still on at 10.45pm and we had to ask Reception to deal with it and then it was back on, waking us up at 7pm. "Stayed here several times over the years. Staff are lovely. Room clean and very very basic. The mattress was awful: obviously well past it's due date for a replacement (I barely slept) Breakfast is either toast/jam or cereal. OK for a one night stay, which I do when visiting friends."

"The room and grounds are both excellent with very friendly staff. The location is easy to find but close to a moderately busy road. The outdoor spaces are fantastic with things for young and young at heart. We enjoyed walking down to the river and Houghton Mill for a tranquil picnic. The breakfast was delicious."
