Amazing Boutique Hotel

We stay for one week and the experience was amazing!! A very nice boutique hotel with and amazing staff. The restaurant's food was delicious, the rooms are very clean and the beds very comfortable. I recommend this hotel 100%. I will definitely stay in this hotel again!!

Melina Hotel is a fantastic place to stay for anyone visiting Higüey. I highly recommend it! The breakfast was exceptional, and the staff was wonderful. The dinner options were both delicious and reasonably priced. Although I had a minor issue with the TV remote not working, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. Another bonus is the adjacent dental clinic with great doctors who are very professional—I visited and was truly impressed!

The property was very clean and modern with great wifi service. I liked that it had private parking. However the bed linen smelled like urine, we only had bottled water the first night, and just 2 towels every night.

I would rate this place a 5 star had it not been for the terrible wifi and having no tv service because of the poor signal. Breakfast was good, clean, staff was kind.

The only thing is that the staff at the reception should check in visitors by checking their license prior of entering the property; including delivery staff from restaurants around the area. I was victim of scam and I was not able to find out who he was but he was able to get into the property up to my room. Security levels should be increased. Notwithstanding service overall was excellent.

Despite them boasting about their staff speaking 3 languages it turned out they only spoke Spanish. There was no cable/satilite tv service; also the A/C unit in the first room did not work. The 2nd room I was moved to had a working A/C unit but it also had an ANT infestation. However the staff were at the very least pleasant and eager to help once we solved the language barrier.

Easily Above Par

My first time at this hotel and it was good. You would expect for the price that it would be a modest accomidation. Melina exceeded that expectation. The staff was welcoming and ready to assist. The breakfast was buffet and also exceeded my expectation. Hot water, AC, electronic locks, restaurant on site, TV, all exceptional. My only issue was that I was on the first floor and didnt have a window in my room. I guess if I were staying longer than 1 night, i would have asked for a diffrent room. That is it, everything else was easily above par. I WILL STAY THERE AGAIN WHEN I VISIT HIGUEY FOR MY NEXT RUNNING EVENT.
