"Initial booking was easy and straightforward. But the check-in process left a lot to be desired! The Virtual Front Desk, ask you to send them photographic ID via WhatsApp or email, and they send you the access codes to the property, along with videos on how to use the locks. Once inside the property, you then need to navigate a labyrinth of hallways and staircases in the hope of finding your room. "I have stayed at this hotel several times, and it's been going through upgrades since I believe new ownership; it's now a self-check-in, although there are staff in the reception to help. I was on this trip in one of the older 10th-floor non-refurbished rooms, described as an 'Executive Room'.... well, executive it isn't. Tiny, not the size specified on the website, and with amenities out of the 90s, a broken, empty fridge and a VERY narrow 'compact' double bed. A tiny old TV which would not work. When I arrived, there was a lack of towels and toilet paper, but I sent a WhatsApp message in response to the hotel's check-in WhatsApp, and these were brought up to the room within 30 minutes, which was great, thanks to a fantastic member of the house staff. If you do not have WhatsApp, I think you're snookered, as there is no telephone in the room at all, so the only way to talk to staff is via WhatsApp or to go all the way down to reception. There is also no room service! I have to say, the staff are always fantastic, but for £180 a night... I would hope for more!"

"Entire experience for this 1 night stay was very poor. Checked in and found that the elevators were faulty. So my partner and I along with another couple staying had to get assistance after being stood waiting for 15 minutes. First impression not great. Shower families looked very worn and damaged. Moving on, went to use the iron in the room to then have it smoking and smelling of burning plastic. Requested a change of iron and waited an hour for this to be brought up. Whilst waiting we ordered room service. Both dishes arrived to the room at a reasonable time, however both disappointing. The chips were burnt and inedible and the poke bowl salad looked off/wilted and almost like it should have been thrown away days prior. Tried to call down to reception to inform of the problem and after 3 attempts the phone rang out. Given our limited time that evening we needed to be at a local event nearby so agreed we would address the issues upon checkout the following morning. Around 90 minutes after eating the food from the room service my partner became ill and had to use the toilet as they were having rather bad diarrhea. This was from the food he had consumed from the room service as he hadn't eaten food for sometime prior. This also impacted our evening and sleep as he was having endless trips to the toilet. Causing dehydration and sleep deprivation. Raised concerns with the reception manager who seemed pleasant but still charged for the food that caused problems. Awful!"

"The room and bathroom are small but clean. There are few facilities in the room (e.g., no tea or coffee). The bed was too soft for me but others will love it. The check in system needs review - I had to check in three times, which was frustrating (online ahead of arrival, then again at reception, only for them to then send me to a terminal for self-check-in)."
