We stayed in an executive room this time - we liked the extra space and would book this again. Last time we were there we were helping some friends who had suffered a tragedy that day, and I managed to knock over a large G&T. "Lovely stay at The Crown, really friendly staff the rooms are separate from the pub so nice and quiet, really comfortable bed all the amenities were superb. We didn’t eat there in the evening as had a party to go to but 14 of us had the carvery on the Sunday and I can honestly say it’s the best carvery I’ve had. Wouldn’t hesitate staying here again, just need my friend to have another party."

"The room was excellent. Decor was nice but one over done. I did not feel I was staying in a hotel. The shower room was bright with a frosted window giving natural daylight. My room had a fridge and snacks available in the room. I needed a few more blankets and I was easily accommodated. The staff were lovely and obliging. I truly wish I had more time to spend here and explore. I will be back. "

"Beautiful old building with spacious rooms but ambience and decor are stunted by poor management and maintenance. The bed frame was too big for the mattress, leaving a 1/2 foot gap all round the bed in which the meagre pillows often got lost. The mattress was too big for the bed linen. Everything seemed to be falling into disrepair - window screens with gaping holes, paint peeling off the walls. Our first morning there, they ran out of eggs at breakfast! Suffice to say, we didn’t stay for...

"Staff are very friendly including the restaurant staff. This hotel represents good value for money and is comfortable. You can hear the trains in certain parts of the hotel which is mentioned in the hotel description, we stay at the weekend so it wasn’t really an issue but during the week I would opt for a room at the other side of the hotel which is clear when booking a room. If in the area would stay again."

"For the cost this is an excellent motel. At £35/night for a single room it is a third of the cost of other budget hotels in this area. Ok so its not the Ritz but its also priced realisticallyfor what it offers. "
