"Super stay. Bright, clean room Superior Classic. Had tasty sandwich lunch outside in sunshine. The hotel is wonderfully situated, set back from the road and coastline. Beachy Head walks very close by and superb promenade walks right out front by the sea. Great for Congress Theatre. Splendid historic building, facilities and friendly staff. Parking on site. Fabulous varied breakfast....cereals, fruits, smoked salmon/meats/cheeses and served hot breakfasts. Love it there. Thanks"

"We had a clean room, and unobstructed view of the sea, the room had no housekeeping daily, the first and last day we had a buffet breakfast, the second day it would appear that we had to order either with the cook or reception but we were not told of this, the third day the chef took our breakfast order."

"Fabulous location, clean room and lovely staff. Decor in the room was a bit tired, but it's hard to maintain a property of this age, I guess. Lift was a great feature, too."

" I have a few comments regarding our stay. I wasn’t expecting a five star but in some ways a 3 star was a little overrated. We were greeted by the most loveliest helpful receptionist. He was 5*. It went downhill from there I’m afraid. The room was ‘ok’ but we got what we paid for. When returning from night out the night receptionist was 1* at best. He cod barely converse. "I enjoyed my one night stop here very much. From the smiles that met me upon arrival to the delicious cooked to order breakfast before departure. Located on a quiet street midway between the station and the seafront it is in a great spot. Room was very comfortable and had everything I needed including tea/coffee and kettle. I didn’t use but saw a cozy lounge with honesty type bar arrangement which would have been used had I stayed longer. Breakfast in the morning served in a bright airy room...
